We are definetly staying at the Polynesian in Oct. I have to admit all the times we've been to WDW and I've seen the Poly, its never appealed to me. But it seems this hotel sure has a faithful following, so we're gonna give it a try. Can't decide between Lagoon view and garden view. Its 300.00 total more for 6 nights for the lagoon view. Question: How many lagoon view, DON'T have a view of the MK? Not concierge just regular. I need some pluses to tell DH to plead my case to spend the extra 300.00. Any rooms with a monorail view and lagoon view? Are the monorail views horrible and noisy? DS(4) wants a monorail view. Am I a horrible mother if I get a lagoon view instead? TIA!!

I was laughing, I felt the same as you. I have been going to Disney since 1075 and never even walked in the Poly but I did last yr. I wasn't impressed by it although it was nice. well I am staying there for one night concierge a lagoon view after reading about all the positive things about it. I am switching to BWI concierge but I am afraid Poly is going to spoil me. I did call and was told if BWI is not as good as I thought i could be shipped back to the poly, Holy Moses, I am always confused but one think I do know is that I am going to have a FANTASTIC time no matter what.

Since Polynesian garden view concierge is the same price as Polynesian lagoon view, why not stay there, the food options alone make it worth it, you will save a ton of money.

RoryWDW, that is wrong, it cost me to upgrade from concierge garden to lagoon view, something like $94.00

:)

I have posted before room numbers that have partly blocked views but there is not any room I would say has a bad view of the lagoon if it is a lagoon view room. I would not worry about it. Even the rooms with a partly blocked view are very few.

Yes, garden concierge is 5.00 night more than a non concierge lagoon view room, but you can't have breakfast with a family 4 for 5.00 anywhere even a food court. That would be 1.25 per person. The snacks, bottled water, soda, hot entrees in the evening and desserts are worth far more than a window overlooking the lagoon, but I guess saving money isn't everything.
