I debated whether this should be made into a pre-trip report or not, but I'm really looking for feedback on our ride plans so I'm thinking this forum would be better?

There are 9 of us going - 4 adults in our 30s, Grandpa, 4 boys ages 7, 7, 5 and 4.

Saturday
Fly into Tampa, drive to Orlando (this saved us $1000 in airfare, so worth it!)
check-in to hotel - we're staying offsite at Orange Lake, two 2 bedroom units for the 9 of us but half our family doesn't arrive until Sunday.

Sunday
pool and relaxing in the morning
DH and DFiL are going to the Braves vs Phillies game at 1 pm at ESPN
I'll take our two boys to DTD and hit the Disney Store, Design-A-Tee, they want to make their own light sabers, etc.
We’ll pick up the guys from ESPN and head to Epcot to meet up with the rest of our family for dinner at Garden Grill.

I saw your question mark by "Tough to be a Bug." Make sure your kids know that it gets very dark and loud in the theater. Also, make them aware that they will "feel" bugs poking them in the back and fluttering under their feet. When my kiddos were young they used to be scared of that show. It's worth seeing though... as long as they know ahead of time. My son (who is now fifteen) always scoots forward in his chair because he hates that feeling of a bug poking his back. He was five when he first went to that show.

I second this! My then 3 and 5 year old were literally traumatized by that show. They wouldn't do any other shows the rest of the week. It is pretty scary and life like. The 4 year old may not be able to separate the reality vs fantasy of it. This year, they are now 5 and 7 (I also have a 3 year old who was too little to be affect by it last time) and still don't want to go. :lmao: I've heard the stitch show at MK is similar.

For the day with Rain Forest, look up the restaurant TRex, dinosaur themed also in Disney. Opened in October 2008. My son loves it there and heck so does his mom and dad

The times where you have rest up at the hotel and then going back for rides just be careful don't cut your theme park time to short...

Other than that looks great. But remember sometimes you might find something on the side and just don't try to be so schedule orientated. Things like crowds, bathroom breaks or even dare I say rain :scared1: could make things change in an instant.

My friend just came back from Orange Lake 2 weeks ago and really liked it a lot...:cool1:

Touring Plans look great...:thumbsup2

Illuminations is My Favorite Fireworks show !

Spaceship Earth can sometimes have NO wait... so check it out that first day....

Cosmic Rays IS a recommendation....so GOOD... try it !

Kali River Rapids... - We can't stand this ride ... we got totally soaked... so I recommend if you try it ... you save for LAST!

Hugs,
Mary

If you can fit it in, I would recommend doing the Disney Family Magic Tour. It was so much fun. It is held at 10am I believe at MK. Definitly worth it. Your kids are the perfect age. My DS was 8 and DD was 10 when they did it. My DD had a blast but was at the age where she still had fun, but was starting to get to old for it.:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the replies! I think we will have to skip It's Tough to be a Bug because our 4 year old DS HATES spiders and I don't think he could handle it.

sscassel - I had never even heard of this tour but am googling it now! :) Thanks for the tip!
