Hi all. We are planning a super short trip in December to check out the Christmas decorations. I've narrowed it down to two (very different) hotels/motels. It'll just be DH and I.

Residence Inn Anaheim Resort - King, One Bedroom. AAA discount comes to $167/night
Candy Cane Inn - 2 queen, Premium Room. AAA discount comes to $176/night

I already have RI reserved, but a family member was raving about how awesome Candy Cane Inn was and that I should consider staying there instead.

RI is obviously a hotel (unlike Candy Cane, which is a motel), and very new. I also like their expanded breakfast items and the fact we will have a king bed. Although Candy Cane does have the shuttle and no parking fees (or resort fees, from what I understand). So what do you think -- should we just stick with the RI?

RI. Especially at that price.
Edit: I don’t stay in motels so my opinion is skewed. 😂

Candy Cane. Premium rooms are great! You can have your breakfast delivered to you each morning. It's a great hotel with it's own dedicated shuttle. We love the CCI!

This really comes down to your personal preference. While there is nothing wrong with the RI (and that rate is great), my vote goes for the CCI, especially with the Premium Rooms. CCI is one of our go-to hotels at DLR. Always do the Premium Rooms. Never had a bad stay. Great customer service. Return customer discount, which can be stacked on to another discount like AAA. Private shuttle runs on time, but the walk to the Harbor bag check is only about 8-10 minutes.

RI...I love that hotel and the space to spread out. That rate is excellent...I've never seen it anywhere close for any of my upcoming trips.

First, verify which Residence Inn you have booked. There are *2* that say "Anaheim Resort. One is on Katella by the convention center, the other is on Harbor in Garden Grove. It is closer to the Target. Your price is more in tune with the on e in Garden Grove. You will either need a shuttle or drive to the park if it is this one.

Personal preference, especially since it is just 2, I'd take Candy Cane. Love their service and hospitality.

I have the one booked on 640 West Katella Ave.

I'm really rethinking Candy Cane now. It just gets glowing reviews. Thanks all for the opinions! Now I need to make a decision (and soon!). Either way we will have a blast.

Residence Inn. the rooms are nice and big and the breakfast is great. The staff has never blown me away there, but that is a great price!
