My DS was invited to a party today. It's at a fire house and he was so excited about it. Well, somehow I messed up the time and thought it started at 2:00. DH was just about to take him and I grabbed the invitation to check the address. That's when I noticed it started at 1:00.

It's over at 3:00, so there is still another hour, but I suppose he's already missed the cool stuff. They're supposed to get a tour of the fire house and the truck. I hope he hasn't missed out on that.

I know this doesn't sound like that big a deal, but I feel awful that I screwed up the time. I'm so upset with myself. :sad1:

Whoopsie! At least he'll get the cake and Ice cream. Maybe one of the firefighters will give him a private tour? Some of them are cool like that.

Don't beat yourself over the head with this, there will be plenty more times this will happen! Just ask me.:)

I have a family of fire fighters. They enjoy giving tours so much. I bet he will still get to climb around the fire trucks.

It happens...I have a couple that I am :headache: about.

1) My 10yodd was out with a neighbor dog alone in the backyard (I know better) and got bit badly by the dog.

2) My oldest had her High School Freshman orientation....the day I have been looking forward to...:goodvibes
Well...she said it was an "all day" thing...yep you guessed it, showed up when it was almost over.:sad2:
I can never get that day back.

So, even though we strive to be careful we make mistakes.

Okay, I just talked to DH. He said when they got there the kids were just coming outside for a tour of the firetruck. So, at least DS got to participate in that.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I still can't believe I screwed that up! :headache:

1) Ouch (literally)! Hope your DD was okay.

2) Oh, that's rough. That pretty much trumps my birthday party situation.

I'm glad he got the firetruck tour! :thumbsup2

I've always wanted to take my DS6 to a firehouse, because he is a big fan of (his word) "fighter-fighters". :)

Someone posted recently that their local firehouse has an open house on 9/11, so I was going to check with our local one to see if they do as well. I just think that is such a cool idea, a great way to mark that sad date.

 Don't be so hard on yourself.

I agree, don't be so hard on yourself! I forgot my DD after her very first swim pratice just a couple of months ago  I am still waiting for my mother of the year award ;)

Y'day, DS had a bday party to attend. We never got an invitation, so the Dad called on Thursday and talked to DH. He asked if DS was coming and that the party would start at 7pm. So, day of the party, at 6:10, the mother called us and said "Oh, will A. be coming to the party? It started at 6." and I'm thinking WTH -- your husband said 7! We had to quick zip him over. I was so embarrassed, but nothing was going on and I doubt he would've missed a heck of a lot at a house party by being late anyway. However, didn't stop me from feeling like a knucklehead although the father gave us the 7 pm time.
