And....how is Carmella supposed to find
all that money if Tony gets arrested or
knocked off? I don't like Janice either.
I'd have been happy if they'd left her in
Seattle after she killed that Aprillo creep she
was going to marry. I'm also really tired of
Tony's shrink, I don't think her character is
important to the plot. I guess he imparts some
information to us through her. I liked the
scenes in the house, around the table with
Carmella's parents-it makes the whole group
seem more real. Can't wait til next week. Funny
that Ralphie is in Stubenville, Ohio and in jail
but not so funny about the actor's cancer, sorry
to hear it.
Bobby is the guy taking care of Uncle Junior.

I'm sure Tony has a way of Carmela finding the money after he's gone, but I'm sure he doesn't want her to find the cash & decide to leave him.

I think Janice's role was increased as antangonist when the mother (I didn't care for her either) died (IRL).

The scenes with Dr. Melfi have been a lot more pedestrian, but I think her purpose is to represent the good person Tony could become.

Actually Ralphie (played by Joey Pants) was the one fooling around with Janice, Paulie (played by Tony Sirico) was the one in jail (& has cancer :( ), but I did think it was funny when he yelled at that guy not to touch the TV because his show was coming on. :smooth:

I love it when Christopher put that 20 dollar bill on his mothers fridge.

Yes but and this is a stretch, that 20 has both Christophers and the cops finger prints on it.

I did enjoy the season premier and cant wait to find out what happens with all the characters.

And what was up with the music when Tony walked out to the end of the driveway in his bathrobe to get the newspaper?
I could be wrong, but I think that was "Destruction" by Public Image Limited (the lead singer was John Lydon, former frontman of the Sex Pistols).

They're music has always been varied.
Some has been great:
The Peter Gun/Every Breath You Take
Elvis Costello - High Fedility
Led Zeppelin - Rock & Roll
AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long
The Kinks - Livin' On A Thin Line

And then there's been the not so great:
Bob Dylan - Return To Me
Keith Richards - Make No Mistake
The Four Seasons - Rag Doll
Live - The Dolphin's Cry
Groove Armada - I See You Baby
Shirley Jones - If I Loved You
& Knights in White Satin - Blech!

Doesn't Janice have a son? Who is taking care of him?

I've loved most of the music they've used....especially Frank Sinatra by Cake.

Janice's son is named Harpo - he is supposed to be older than Meadow - and sort of doing the Mom-like drifter thing out west.

Katie Couric interviewed a few of the actors this morning, and Paulie looked great.

I did not need to see Ralphie naked.

I loved the "Quasimodo" - "Nostradumus" conversation.

I almost died laughing at that :teeth:

I thought it was a pretty good episode (maybe 8 out of 10), but it just seemed to be over too soon.

I was working last night and just saw the premier this evening. Overall, I'd give it a 6 out of 10:( :( :( :( . I love the characters on this show but find the writing to be VERY uneven. Too much fluff (in the DIS tradition:D ). Oh well, perhaps things will "pick up".........

LOL!!!

"There's the Hunch back of Notre Dame, and also the quarterback and halfback of Notre Dame"

"You know Tony, 9/11 and Hitler and all that stuff was predicted by that Quasimodo guy. . "

"That was Nostrodomus you idiot. . "

ROTLMAO!!!! That whole exchange just killed me!!! :teeth: :teeth:

I thought the opener was solid if not spectacular; more of a set up for the coming season then anything.

The deal with Paulie did seem strange- I'm guessing he or Christopher will get whacked before the end of this season, but I like both actors and characters, so I'm hoping they whack Janis instead. . . ;)

The only real surprises to me were that Ralphie survived yet another episode, and how much older and different AJ is from a year and a half ago. . :)

It was an ok episode. I'm looking forward to the rest of them.

My DH thinks that Tony is going to get whacked at the end of this season. The show's creator/writer, David Chase, has always said that he will do 5 seasons only. If my DH is right, it might be kind of cool to have season 5 show what happens without Tony...how his family copes, what happens to "the family" without him, etc.

I don't know. I can't imagine the show without him.
