In 2013, we are staying deluxe for the first time. As I've said previously, its our 10 year anniversary and we chose to stay deluxe as a gift :) We don't plan on going the exact week of our anniversary after I just checked teh prices. The Poly was too much money and I think that may be where we stay (depending on refurbishment).

At any rate, we usually go the last week of August. We love it. The kids can swim everyday, the parks aren't crowded, food is free, and the kids don't miss school.

However, we started going to the Jersey Shore for a week and with my daughter in travel softball, we now moved our week to August when she's off from softball. So in 2012 we have our two vacations literally two weeks from each other. That's great but I love to vacation and getting it all over with in one month leaves the other 11 months yearning for a vacation!

So is there another value season with low crowds, nice enough weather to swim and most likely to get free dining or another good discount (free dining gives us the most savings for our family of five)? I don't mind taking the kids out of school for a week for the record :)

THANKS!

Jan 2-beginning of spring breaks minus marathon weekend and president's day is a good time and has had free dining the last couple of years

The week after Thanksgiving thru the first 2-3 weeks of December are good as well

we were swimming over Christmas last year so no telling!

The end of April/Beginning of May might be ok. Spring breaks are over and school isn't out yet

I would LOVE that time of year, as April 25 IS our anniversary, however the price goes a bit too high for me. BUT if Poly is getting a renovation anyway, maybe we will do Beach Club which is a bit cheaper.

However, I would think that our chances at free dining would be pretty non-existent :(

First two weeks of November are awesome...mild weather, usually 70s, kids swam every time, thoroughly enjoyed our Nov trips! Had FD on those trips too!

We are a family of 6 and I didn't want the kids to miss too much school, so we searched for the best low crowd, nice weather, cheapest prices and FREE DINING and we came up with the week BEFORE Thanksgiving. We go Wed through the following Tuesday (this year it's Nov 14-20) and we come home 2 days before Thanksgiving so we can be with our extended families.

The first 5 days of the trip the crowds are really low but it does pick up into Thankgiving week. Also, last year, the weather was fantastic (80's) and the kids swam with no problems.

In our area (central Maryland), the kids are off school the entire Thanksgiving week, so they only missed 3 days of the week before and they had time to rest and adjust before going back to school.

We loved it so much that we're going back THIS November for the same week.

That may work for us! I'll have to give it a look. I'm also thinking maybe the end of September for the Halloween Party -- we've never been! I love the choices :)
