Another GAC question. Sorry.

I'm sure this has been covered. Today I have a really bad case of LAZY-itis and I really don't want to go through all the posts.

I have two questions:

#1: Is it helpful to bring an old GAC if you still need the same assistance? I thought I would ask before I drive myself crazy looking for our old one.

#2: Can the GAC be for both children? Example: Front of the theater seating for DS8 with a visual impairment..... and stroller as a wheelchair for DS4??

Answers to both are "it depends".

1. It is not necessary to ring the old GAC. Some of the people in Guest Relations may not even want to see it. However, it does let them know what stamps were used in the past and you can let them know if these same needs exist.

2. It is better to have separate GACs for each person. If the group splits up for some reason thejn you will have the correct GAC for the child that is with you.

Hmmm.... I thought it was one GAC for each family. But it does make so much more sense for each child. Both of their needs are completely different. That's great to know..... it makes planning and touring much simpler. We did want to split up for some stuff. Thanks for the information.

Technically the GAC is issued to the individual with the needs. In actual practice, especially when the person with the needs is a child, an adult in the group will control the card. So it is one per person and not one per family.

Unless you can find it easily, I would probably not spend the time looking for it. They used to use the old GAC much more to issue a new one, but after a few people tried to sell them on ebay, they don't put much emphasis on the old GAC now.
If you do bring it, expect that you will still need to explain your child's (children's) needs.

They often use a sticker for the 'stroller as a wheelchair' now, so you may have a GAC for your one child and a sticker for the one who needs the stroller.
There also may be situations where the needs of your children conflict.
For example, in Beauty and the Beast, Indiana Jones Stunt Show, Festival of the Lion King, among others, there is seating for guests with wheelchairs in the front and the back. In most of the movie/audioanimatronic shows like (Muppets 3D, Bug's Life, Voyage of the Little Mermaid all the wheelchair seating is in the back row.
For that reason (besides splitting up, like Cheshire Figment mentioned), you will either need 2 different GACs or one GAC to sit close and one sticker for using the stroller as a wheelchair.

EDITED TO ADD: After mine was posted, I noticed we were all writing at the same time.
The GAC is issued in the name of the person with a disability. Sometimes the CM will only give one per family - that might make sense if the people have similar needs, but doesn't really in your case. If you have a problem getting a second GAC (or the stroller sticker), I'd suggest you ask to talk to the Supervisor.

That's an answer I don't know.
Sometimes, when we have brought DD's old GAC with us, the CM has taken it over to a computer and typed some things in or taken it into a back room. Then the CM came back to us, pulled a GAC form out and filled it out in front of us. That makes it seem like they do keep a record. But, other times, it doesn't seem like it.
