Another Florida Bug on Steroids.

Ok, so we're watching American Idol last night when all of a sudden the cats start going crazy at the front window. I go over to see what's going on and here is this enormous grasshopper looking bug. Holy Cow! The thing was about 4 inches long with the antennas and at least an inch across. It looked like a walking leaf. Just a really cool bug!

It hung around on the window for about 2 hours even falling off a couple of times and then climbing right back up again.

Any bug experts here? I'd love to know what it is.

We have them in Texas, too. It's a katydid.

I'd run and hide! I hate grasshoppers and anything that resembles grasshoppers.
They absolutely terrify me.

It looks like a katydid to me do, but they're not 4 inches around here (Ohio).
