Another first timer loop question

Hi,
We have been to Disney several times but this will be our first time with our camper. I have learned a lot from reading all the posts. Now I am hoping that some one can help me pick a loop to request. We are planning to go the first week of December with our 28 ft fifth wheel (slide and awning), two kids DD5 and DS1, and our dog. Is there a loop where we can walk to the Marina and the campfire? I dred loading a stroller on the buses.

I have came to a conclusion that the 1300 or 1400 loop would be the best for us. I studied the map off the camping website and read suggestions. These loops are in the middle of all the kid stuff pretty much. There is a playground, pool and campfire-movie close. Of course we will not be by the petting zoo and beach. When you are on the website (posted on that thread) you can click on the loop number and people have posted their comments on several sites. A lot of them state the size of the concrete pad, sand area and if there are any obstructions.

1300 and 1400 loops are not pet loops if you plan on bringing your dog. 800 is a pet loop and 900 is a pet overflow loop. 800 would probably be best for walking to both destinations.

The answer to your question is going to depend on what type of site you want. If you want full hook up then as John VN pointed out 800 is your best bet. Now, if you want a "preferred" loops then the 700 loop is it .

Full Hook Up sites include electric, water and sewer (most of the FW sites are full hook ups)

Preferred sites, include electric, water, sewer and cable TV The preferred sites are also in loops situated closer to the settlement which includes the marina, beach, restaurant, petting zoo and many other activities. Also, if you plan on using the cable TV hook up, remember to bring a long coaxial cable to hook up with. If you don't have one Disney will be happy to sell you one.

We were just at FW last week and stayed in the 1300 with our Golden Retriever. It is a short walk to the pool, campfire, and bike barn. We love this loop, although there is no cable to amuse the kids while not running around the parks or campgrounds.

We made our reservations for this loop in May and informed the CM that we had a dog and preferred the 1300 loop. We have seen pets in this loop before as it is our loop of choice. This is however the first time we had taken our dog with us. I also called 3 days before our check in date to verify all arrangements, and to remind them that we did have a dog.

The FW CMs must really like you! 1300 is not really a pet loop.

Under the new system (when they added loops) they assigned the loops according to access to the three "pet walk" areas. These pet walk areas include a canal pet walk off the 1800 loop, a canal pet walk off the 300 loop and a nice wooded walk behind the 700 & 800 loops.

Thanks for your suggestions. We hadn't decided on Full Hook or Preferred yet. We had been comparing the distances for the 300, 700 and 800 loops. We don't "need" to have TV but it would be nice. I was just trying to decide if the location was worth the extra $50 to get a preferred site.

I would say skip te preferred. I personally find there is so much to do that TV isn't even in my thoughts. IMHO

I am glad they like us! I have to say though, I don't ever intend on taking our dog with us again when we go to FW. We are away to much and it just wasn't fair to him. We never did take him away from our site.

That is what is nice about the pet loops (I kind of like the 1600-1900 loops). You have a large area to walk your dog. The canal pet walks are really nice!

We generally go to a park in the morning and come back around 1 for lunch and a break. Back to the parks around 4 until closing. Plus, one or more days of our FW trips are spent without leaving the campground. This generally gives us more "family time" with natasha then she gets when we are at home. Work days we leave home before 7 and get home 5:30 - 6.
