Another Feb 2005/Daytona 500/Presidents Week Question

Okay, so what do you all think would be the latest for me to book Feb 20 - Feb 23 or 24? I really don't want to book anything until Sept or Oct, because I have to borrow (March use year), I was able to book a free night with starwood because of points, so 2/19 is covered (SWAN), we will go to the race on 2/20, then not sure if back to WDW or Vero, anyone have any ideas how fast things book up solid for Presidents week?

Ever since we moved to Upstate NY 5 years ago we have been going to WDW during Presidents Week. The schools here give the kids off for the week. We usually make our reservations early September for February (we usually stay at OKW). Your challange will be based upon which resort you want to stay at and what size of room you want to book.

If you want to stay at BCV or BWV make your reservations ASAP as they will fill up first. Also, studios and one bdrms fill quite fast.

What ever you do don't come down to central FL during race week without confirmed reservations. One year we were in SC and decided to arrive a day early (same weekend as Daytona). The closest reservations I could get were in Clearwater! When we arrived at the hotel they told us that they overbooked and did not have a room even though we had a confirmed reservation. The good side is that for the agrivation the overbooked hotel put us up at the Hyatt with a cabana/beach side room at N/C!

Also, if you are staying at WDW be ready for crowds and lines. With children off from school in many parts of the country WDW gets quite crowded.

I had the same experience one year when I arrived a day early for my reservation, there were no rooms available in all of WDW and as far as I could find out Orlando. We traveled around all night at WDW, never forget it, Daytonna 500 packs them in everywhere, and President's Week kids who have school off.
