Trying to read up for our March visit and staying offsite so can't do anything until we arrive. Touring plans.com has great info on where the kiosks are and how to use them (I still can't believe you can only get 3 per day and in fact Soarin may already be all gone for March Break since resort guests could book months in advance). My question is this........what gets used at the kiosk.....is it an admission ticket or a band that must be worn by the user. In the past, DDs would ride space mountain while I secure fastpass since I can't ride that one. Does the rider have to wear the band and get their own reservation (remember I am NOT a resort guest).

Secondly, how is a fastpass+ offered for Wishes and Electrical Parade? Is there premium seating left available for these reservations?

Hoping someone has gone as a non-resort guest and can shed some light. As a visitor 40+ times, I'm not seeing any upside to this new process and it appears to be more of a control of flow for Disney ensuring that guests can sleep in, show up at 2pm and already ensure they get on their 3 favourite rides. For us will continue to be a "rope drop and run" scenario (DDs....mom walks so as not to spill her coffee).

I'll try and answer a couple of your questions, although I haven't experienced it yet myself, so everything will be based on what I have read and have herd on podcasts, others can chime in with their experiences.

1.) from what you're asking it sounds like you will be staying off site so you will not have access to Magic Bands as those are currently only available to those staying on site and some AP holders who are currently testing them or have stayed on site.

2.) from what I understand some of the fastpass times are held back for people to book the day of all you need to do is swipe your ticket on the kiosk. You should be able to take everyones tickets and scan them as a group. Also not everyone has to have the same fastppasses unless it is for something like the parade or fireworks. For those they have areas roped off and the cast members will direct you to them.

This is a very good article about Fastpass+ Kiosks at MK. It has pictures of everything including the Fastpass+ screens and lists the kiosks by how busy they get (Storybook Circus for those who don't want to read the article).

What some people are doing to get into the Fastpass+ system sooner is reserving an on-site campsite or room (just for the first day) and then linking their park tickets to that reservation. Then they can make Fastpass+ reservations 60 days out.

The thread with that information is here
