Another Fastpass Question

We're staying at Disney resort in 2 weeks for our first Disney vacation. What I'd like to know is, during normal park hours when Fastpasses run out, do they reset for the EMH guests? Sorry if that sounds confusing but I'm confused on it myself, lol.

Example;

Fastpass for Soarin' runs out at noon, Epcot closes to general public at 9 p.m. then remains open for 3 extra hours to resort guests. Will the Soarin' fastpass reset and allow us resort guests to ride it?

Or, are the lines not as long now that off-site guests have left?

Or, option 3, am I screwed out of riding it that day or wait in a long line?

I bought the unnoficial guide to help with my planning, but it hasn't came in the mail yet (supposed to arrive today), so I figured I'd ask here first.

Thanks!

No, there are no resets for FP's during EMH, once they are out, they are out...but the lines should be shorter (in theory) because the everyone has to leave the park that is not staying at a WDW resort.

There are no fastpasses during EMH, only during regular operating hours. The lines are generally much shorter during EMH, but that can vary.

If you are looking at Soarin specifically your best bet is to get to Epcot at park opening and get a fastpass first thing. :thumbsup2

Cool, but this leads me to another question. If I get the FP at Epcot's rope drop, can I go to another park (yes, we have park-hoppers), then return to Epcot's EMH and use the FP that night? After off-site people have left?

Yes.

In some cases (in the various parks, various attractions) they may or may not be operating the FP lines during PM EMH.

The FP can only be used in it's allotted time. For example, it'll say you can only use it between 10:15-11:15 or some other later time period for that day. The allotted time you're given will depend on how many FP have already been given out.

Sorry, but that's not correct.

You can use a FP at any time that same day as long as it it after the earliest Return Time stated on the ticket.
In the above example, the FP could be used any time that day after 10:15.

Actually, if you read on these boards, you'll find that that isn't true. You cannot use them BEFORE the allotted time, but you can use tham AFTER the allotted time.

It seems to be one of those unwritten rules. It has to be used that day, but they can be used late.

What's up with this thread? :rotfl:

I would say that often there will be no FP machines running during an EMH evening. Return times for FPs that you received during normal park hours will not be later than the regular park closing time that day (in other words, a FP you got during the day will never have a return time that falls into the EMH hours).

So, based on the previous responses...

If I collect some FPs in the AM to use later that day, I should use them before PM EMH starts? They may or may not have FP lines operating during EMH? If they do, my FP from the morning is good. If they don't I am out of luck?

TIA

I was going to comment on that in my original post, but then thought better of it. I have never tried myself to use a FP from earlier during EMH - because we never do evening EMHs.

However, I do have one friend that got a fair amount of grief using a FP from earlier during EMH (it was on Buzz). Now whether that is an exception to the normal policy of using them late, or she just got a difficult cast member that evening, I really don't know. Perhaps someone will come along and say they always use their FPs late during EMH and that instance was just a one-off type thing.

Edited: I just remembered now that that was the problem - they weren't running the FP line during EMH @ Buzz. Sorry - had forgotten the details. So yeah, if they're not running the FP lines, I guess you're going to have an issue, so I would use them before the EMH starts.

Correct.
