i've read different reoprts and head different stories.... but the backwards part of everest... do you fall, or do you go uphill? i've heard both. And if you fall, is it a steep fall? i REALLY want to go on it, but if im going to fell like i miht fall out, i'll think twice about it.

thanks for your help.

It's more of a gradual turning descent, but coaster is traveling at a good clip.

glad to hear i'll live. haha. i just HATE that feeling... you know what im talking about??? i can handle the going forward one if i have to, but going backwards in the dark and not being able to see where im going.... ahhhhh... lol. if you're there in october and hear this blood curdling scream from everest, thats me :rotfl2: :bounce:

I believe the backwards part actually goes uphill in a spiral. However, because it is in the dark and you are going backwards, it feels like you're going downhill. It's not steep so much as it's banked, you kind of feel like you're sideways but I think that's just because the dark throws off your senses. It's really neat and you don't feel like you're going to fall out. If anything, it makes you feel heavier in your seat. That's how I felt anyway, others might experience it differently. My DD thought it felt like she was upside down, but that means nothing because she will not go on anything that actually IS upside down so she doesn't really know what that would feel like.

Threeboysmom is a bit of a coaster wimp and she did it 3 times even after she found out it really did go backwards and that is what scared her most...

She would still ride it again as the backwards part is really short... I agree, you'll live.... :rotfl:

And it just kills me that you refer to "that feeling"! Threeboysmom talks about it all the time... gives me a hard time that "You dont get that feeling, you dont know what its like!"....

Don't worry, you never feel like you will fall out.

Ok...I don't like that "falling feeling" either, and I can do Everest. :thumbsup2

That being said....the backward part does spiral you up pretty quick. If you sit towards the back of the train, and look down....you can see the light coming in through the wood beams!! And you are VERY steep going up!! I felt like I was looking straight....but I was actually looking straight down! But...I could handle it. I think you will be ok. :sunny: You never feel like you are going to fall out.

you dis'ers are the best! Thanks for putting my mind at ease! Can i bring you all with for when im standing in line!!! lol.

now i gotta convince my friend whos coming with me to go on it. She's got a small fear of heights, and she saw the advertisement when we were at a movie, and she saw the high climb you do.... and she had this look of terror in her eyes, lol.... got any suggestions for me to tell her besides "close your eyes and hold on?" hahaha

Well, that first big climb is a doozy. The view is amazing though. You can see all the other parks and many hotels. I tried to distract myself by looking at the sights in the distance, NOT down! :scared1:

yeah i heard that 1st climb is a "doozy", lol. i've seen the movies of everest online on youtube so i kind of know what to expect... but since the backwards part is in the dark i couldnt see it, lol. all i could hear were peopl egoing franticly nuts. haha.

i dont know. i guess im overly excited to try it. haha. i'll go on it once and if i dont like it, at least i can say i did it. Im doing the same thing for tower of terror!!!!
