another EMH question

When a park (say MGM) is open for evening EMH, how many hours is it actually open for? For example on Disneys site MGM is listed as being open until 10:00 PM plus extra magic hours on our first day at Disney April 30th. So what time would the park actually close to onsite guests? Would it be 1:00 AM?

Yes 3 hours after park closing time. That would be 1am.

Just a note about EMH.

The last time we were at Disney we decided to try EMH at the Magic Kingdom. We figured there'd be less crouds, more fun, etc... Wow were we wrong. When the part closed it just got busier and busier. I couldn't believe it. The crowds and the lines were massive. Way worse then earlier that day.

I didn't and I still don't understand that. I would have figured that half the crowd would have left leaving just the resort guests in the park. We stayed for about 45 minutes (the time it took us to walk from one side of the park to the other in the sea of people). It was nuts.

Perhaps we just caught it on a "bad" night but wow were we surprised. Way too crowded for our little ones.

Hope your experience is much different.

EMH in the evening are ALWAYS busy.
Yes it does mean that the park will stay open 3 extra hours.

It can be busy.. but towards the end of that 3 hours.. I find no matter which park it is.. I can get a lot done. I can see a lot of stuff in that last hour.. cause by then.. most people have left.
