Another ECV question

I just read the sticky and am concerned about renting a Disney ECV. We will only need it two days or I would consider renting offsite. What we want to do is go early, use it in the morning, leave the park when it's the hottest midday, and then return in the evening. I read that Disney MIGHT be able to save the ECV for you in a case like that. What determines whether they can save it or not?

One CM might tell you they will save it for you if you leave the park. However, they will automatically put it back in to recharge and that person may not be around later on; either on a break, reassigned to a different role, or gone for the day. If one of the other CMs sees it apparantly available and they are running low it wll be rented out.
