I purchased 2 outfit/costumes for my daughters to wear to a party on Saturday. I knew I needed them ASAP, so I paid an extra $35 (above the "regular" shipping cost) to have them sent International Express Mail from Hong Kong.

They arrived today, however the skirts are exactly the same length! One is for a 2 year old and one is for a 6 year old and I ordered the appropriate sizes, but the one that is supposed to be 12" in length is more like 9"....way too short for my 6 year old.

I emailed the seller, but because of the time difference, I don't expect to hear from him for awhile. In the meantime, DD can't wear the skirt to the party :sad2: and I'm out a lot of money I spent to get them here on time.

So what would be a reasonable solution? I assume he will offer to send me skirt in the right size, but do you think he should refund me the express shipping cost, too since there's no way I'll have them by Saturday? And should I take it up directly with him, or should I file a complaint with PayPal?

Thanks!

What did the description say about the dimensions of the dress?

There is a size chart...the smaller size says 9.5" length and the larger one says 12.5". They're a little hard to get an exact measurement because they are very full pettiskirts, but I measured about 10" and when I hold them up together, they're the same length. The strange thing is that the waist on one is a little bit bigger than the other, but looking at them, you'd assume they're the same size. They basically come in XS-XL, and these are S and XL, so I don't think they should be anywhere close to the same size!

If you can't use them Saturday, but need them by then, I'd return them and ask for a refund of everything.

They're cute, and I'd like to keep them...I'd just like to get what I ordered. If I hadn't spent the extra $35 to get them here by Saturday, I would just have him send the right size - not a big deal. But the main reason I bought them was for the party, and now my older DD can't wear it.

UPDATE:
So the seller wrote me back and offered $8 (not sure where that # came from because the skirt with regular shipping was $20) OR I could return the skirt and he would send the right size. Since it's international, I think it would cost me about $10 just to ship it back.

I explained to him that I felt like it was reasonable for him to refund the express shipping fee of $35 since the only reason I opted for that was to have the outfits by Saturday, and now I won't. After going back and forth a couple of times, he offered $25.

So should I just take it and be done with it? He seems really worried about neutral/negative feedback, but apparently feels like he can't spare the extra $10. So what would you do?

I think he should refund you for the price of the skirt and half of the shipping costs if he doesn't want negative/neutral feedback.

Or he should pay for return shipping and have you exchange the skirt.

I don't think $25 is accommodating considering you paid for express shipping and did not get what you ordered.
