I apologize for my 'lack of knowledge' in advance but-

How do the refillable mugs work? Obviously, you pay one price and refill the whole trip, but can you only do this at the resort you're staying at, and are there place that you are able do to this inside the parks as well? This seems like a pretty good value, but Im curious as to how readily available the refills actually are.

All of you are such wonderful help to me:thumbsup2

Hmmm, this makes me think a little more about it....i was hoping it would be a little more convienent?

For those of you who get this, do you think it is a plus to have it, do you really use it all that much?

It really depends on how much coffee/soda you drink. We usually eat breakfast at our resort and get a paper cup for soda with our meal on the DDP - I'll drink my drink with breakfast and then refill my paper cup on my way out to the parks and toss it when I am done.

If I have purchased the refillable cup I have to either take the cup back to my room or lug it around all day. Then once we get back to the resort I either have to go back to my room to grab my refillable cup for refills or if I don't buy the cup I have to decide if I'm thirsty enough to buy a soda.

I've done it both ways and it is really a matter of preference.

It's a huge plus for us. We get them on every trip, and they pay for themselves many times over. $2.50 a pop for a bottle of soda gets out of hand very quickly. Kids (parent, for that matter) usually want SOMETHING to drink at the resort before going to bed. We've been known to do dinner at the resort CS restaurant more than once per trip, so again, no need to buy a drink.

Sounds like it wouldn't be smart for us to get them. We don't drink lots of soda, just wanter and juice.

Just an FYI, although it technically isn't juice, there is fruit punch as well as Minute Maid light lemonade available. My kids don't drink soda and this is what they put in their mugs when we are at the resort.
It also depends on how much time you spend at your resort. We don't spend a ton, but we usually take a swim break mid-day and fill our mugs then and fill them before retiring to the room for the night.

We have been to WDW twice and both times we got the cups. It's nice to go get a soda or two at night. Plus its a nice keepsake we still use.

I was always under the impression that since they changed the cups to all resorts having the same design, you could use them at any resort. Especially because of the dining plan. The quick service plan gives you cups as part of the plan...and since you can dine at any resort, you can get refills at any resort.

You just can't get refills at the parks with them.

What I like most about my mug is using it here at home.

A nice reminder of my (so far) only trip to WDW.

Not much of a soda girl,
but I enjoyed the hot cocoa at Port Orleans.

I too use it at home. In fact, SmallWorld71 and I work together (imagine our lunch room conversations with non Disers in the room) and she has her Million Dreams mug all the time. It's a great souvenier of the trip, and along with the soda and lemonade there's coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water (if you can drink Florida tap). And, it's more environmental because you don't need a paper cup or plastic bottle every time you want a drink.
