OH MY GOODNESS! If you would...if you could...if we could say hello at WDW I would be over the moon! Sadly (according to my dh who thinks planning a trip "with a bunch of Disney crazed strangers" is a somewhat unbalanced thing for me to do) I have grown to consider many of those on the trip reports boards friends... I would love to meet up with you if it would be possible! I saw that a few trip report writers did a meet up for tea at the GF.....WOO HOO what a neat idea. Wouldn't it be great to do something along those lines??!! WOO HOO! (Doesn't it look like this little guy is saying "WOO HOO" as he dances?!)

okay, totally obsessed with everything you post now, so i will live through you for the next year as you plan your trip!!! I picked the concierge room with dining but in late november/december.

Me and my (now) husband went December 10th-19th and absolutely LOVED it! I had only been in July before that...and waiting an hour and a half for IASM seemed normal! This time was perfect because the crowds were minimal but the festivity was at a maximum!!!

I'm not sure if you have ever had the chance to go around Christmas but I think every child should have a Disney Christmas experience!!!

I think you are so right!! Every child shoud have a Disney Christmas at least once!! I am so excited to be taking the boys in December! And WAY excited to be staying at the Contemporary again! And WAY WAY excited to see all of the Christmas decorations, the parades, the gingerbread houses, the trees, the lights at MGM, the CP at Epcot...I am just full of excitment! What a holiday season it will be when we jump start it with a visit to the happiest place on earth!!

PLEASE do a pre trip report. I am going a bit bonkers (already...that tells you have far over the edge I will be by the time it's actually time to depart for WDW)waiting to get back "home". Trip reports and pre trip reports are helping me make it until then!

Anyways, I totally know what you mean - as you know I have NEVER even been to Disney and I feel like I HAVE already been because I live vicariously through everyones trip reports and pre trippies .. i even give my uneducated opinions on things i have no idea about ! WOW!!! two trips....1 year....that's almost too much for a girl to handle!!!!!! You will LOVE the AKL....it is absolutely amazing...the pool is not as cool as the y&b but the animals outside your window totally make up for it!!!! And getting to take a trip with just the boys...too amazing!!! They will love disney at Christmas (i sure did) and there is so many new things for them to do!!! Can't wait to hear more!!!

How about I post as soon as I actually get the pins? Like I said, every other time it has worked out GREAT (but I don't know which sellers in my feedback were the pin sellers (I didn't add them to my favorite seller list...shame). I ordered bought them today via Buy It Now and paid via PayPal so they should come shortly. I have PMed you the name of the seller I felt comfortable using...but again, I don't have the pins yet...hopefully by the end of the week.

Okay...not only did I get them quickly....but they arrived in a box with a Mickey sticker on the back and Donald and Daisy on the front!! All pins are present and accounted for! I do have one complaint....TOO MANY PINS I WANNA KEEP!! I really will need to order another batch to have enough to trade. There were a lot of cast lanyard pins and really cute ones too. Even a few limited edition ones in the grab bag. Not a bad deal at all! NO...I don't get money for this...but if you are looking to buy pins off of eBay, I would not hesitate to tell you that I had a very good transaction with the seller mikebiteme. I know, nice user ID ....but despite the somewhat iffy ID they were super nice, super fast and had super good pins! I am so excited!! Sorting those pins today made me feel like I was almost on vacation (too bad I have a bit over 7 months left until that will actually be true).

SO...remember ORDER YOUR PINS EARLY!! SAVE MONEY!! cha ching!!

The What Ifs Start In...BIG Time!!

The what ifs...I suspect most people who vacation at WDW get them (or at least I hope so because otherwise it makes me a bit of a worry wart/loon). What if I chose the wrong resort? What if the resort is not the "best" place for us to be this coming vacation? What if those pesky construction rumors are actually true? What if the sky is falling??!! I just don't know.

We are booked at AKL from 9/2-9/9 in the Kilimanjaro Club. WOO HOO That is my idea of a slice of heaven...UNLESS the construction/DVC taking over the concierge floors/lounge rumors are true. Then what? What will they do for us? Serve us snacks off of a cart in some obscure corner of a hall? Will I not be able to sit up in the amazing 6th floor lounge and curl up with a good book while overlooking the lobby? Will I not get to use the coffee/cappuccino machine (for dh, I do NOT drink that nasty stuff...me and all forms of coffee do not mix). Will we not have a place for the boys to eat breakfast (that they set out and I don't even have to shop for) while watching cartoons early in the morning? Will we be able to use the concierge lounge but unable to find any peace due to the construction going on? Will there even be any construction going on? If they are doing something, will it "put us out"? SHOULD WE SWITCH TO THE BEACH CLUB????

Ahhh...it's almost enough to make anyone go crazy...so I am going to have to have faith, trust and a whole LOT of pixie dust and trust that Disney will take care of us...that either it will be just as it should be or they will go out of their way to make it even better in some other way. I really do want to stay at AKL again. It's our second favorite resort. Right behind the Contemporary...which is my heaven on earth.

Speaking of my heaven on earth...I hear construction rumors floating around about their too...will our 11/25-12/3 stay be a " " ? Will my boys be unable to use the arcade? Will the Christmas decorations not be out due to the construction? Will it be "ugly" inside due to the redo of the public areas? Will we not have a chance to eat at the Concourse Steakhouse? And most importantly...will I be unable to find that heavenly chocolate dipped chocolate cake because the Food and Fun Center is relocating??!! Should I call back and change us to the Grand Floridian or ? AHHHHH....

Nope...here again, I am just going to have to use faith, trust and pixie dust to get me through my bad case of the what ifs . My dream is to drive under the welcome to WDW sign and see my boys eyes bug out of their heads (in a good way) and then to see their jaws drop when we pull up to the CR. They love it too. I dream of waking up and eating breakfast in the Atrium Club lobby while looking out at Cinderella's castle. I dream of finding a strange sort of pleasure in inserting my key into the elevator to access our floor. I dream of hopping on the monorail and taking a tour of the monorail resorts to see all of their Christmas decorations . I am not giving those things up. Most importantly, I dream of that chocolate cake! Actually, although the cake is important (OH CR CAKE, HOW DO I MISS THEE)...even more important is being in a resort that I am familiar with and comfortable in while I am taking the boys on our first mom/sons trip. I have never done the "only parent" thing alone in WDW before. The monorail will be our primary form of transport (remember...NO BUS for me... I have issues ).

SO...now how do I stop myself from rethinking not switching due to the "possible major" rehab/construction that might take place during our upcoming vacations??!! If someone knows...please, have pity on a poor DISer and let me in on your secrets!! The what ifs give me a headache!

However, even I have to admit...what a sweet worry to have!! WOO HOO I am going back to WDW!!!!

Okay, I have a "what-if" for you! (hehe) What if you switch your reservations and stay at the Wilderness Lodge for that first trip in which your husband will be with you. I remember you said something about him wanting to stay there. It's a quick boat ride to the MK and the Contemporary plus probably closer to all the other recreational water stuff you wanna do than the AKL is (or so I am guessing). Maybe you could tell your DH that you are staying at the AKL and then surprise him. Hahahaha. I thought it was a great hotel (though, remember, besides the Dolphin, that is the only Disney resort I have stayed at).

Then maybe for the Christmas trip you could change to the GF. I know you said "Aladdin" really wants to try that resort at some point. It is still on the monorail and it could be another big surprise for him. Plus they have that amazing gingerbread house in there for the holidays! Just a "what-if" thought from one of your TR fans!! Not to give you anymore "what-if" headaches but like you said, what a problem to have!
