ANOTHER DisneyShopping Rant ***UPDATE 12-21** :)

Where to begin. So I ordered the Tink Tree Topper in October. Got her at a reasonable price. She arrived with one of her wings broken off. I was sad, but was feeling good about the other items that had arrived since they were gifts and all arrived in one piece.

So I sent my tree topper back. Paid my own shipping. I made note that I wanted it exchanged.

About 8 days later I am speaking with my DH about when he thinks it will arrive. He tells me we had a credit from disneyshopping. I was slightly upset, but quickly remembered that the website was having a sale. I look online and see my Tink Tree Topper at a very cheap price. I order her.

She came today. Guess what...her wing is broken!!!
I am so upset now. I refuse to pay shipping charges AGAIN!

Please help me with this. I am afraid I am not thinking too clearly right now due to my frustration. What are my options? What would you do?

Phone Disneyshopping and explain the situation. I'm sure they will work with you to get you a new Tink. Good luck and please keep us updated.

Just call cust svc, and they should issue a call tag, which is a prepaid shipping label for you to return the item. You will need to enclose part of the original packing slip. In the meantime, ask them to resend a new Tink right away, without charging you again. This way, you might get it before Xmas, and before she's sold out.
 
Do call...they will most likely just send one out and let you keep the broken one. They did that when they sent me the wrong size shirt one time. Geez, two broken tinks....I almost ordered her myself lastnight but decided not to. I hope the third one you get makes it in one piece!
 

I agree... calmly call and explain. I ordered the $200 mickey statue last year. It came with the bell in Mickey's hand cracked.... I called and it was sold out. They told me just to keep it and they would credit my account for 100% of the price.

(You can barely see the separation - of the bell from his hand - for free I can definitely live with it!!!!) Someday maybe I will try to have it glued or otherwise repaired.
 
Definately call they told me that if the purchase was under $30 they replace it for no charge and you don't have to send it back
 
I wonder if they sent you the same one your returned???

I agree, call them and explain, then take it from there. Give them a chance to make it right.
 
Thanks everyone for your quick replies. I am feeling a little less hot-headed right now and will plan on calling them today after I run my errands.

It just upsets me. I wonder how many more out there have gotten theirs with wings busted off? You would think they would cahnge how the tree topper is packaged in the first place.

Definitely call them. I ordered the same tink tree topper and what do you know, the wing was broken. The cost to ship it back would have been almost as much as the item cost.

I called customer service and they said they would send another one out immediately absolutey free. She mentioned that she couldn't guarantee that I would receive it before Christmas though, which was fine. I asked about the broken one and she told me to keep it.

Well, I got it 2 days ago and it survived the trip!

I agree that the packaging wasn't the greatest.

Customer service worked for me this time. Good luck!
 
I don't really have any new advice, but I just wanted to send hugs to my Zeta sea star. :hug: I hope you get everything resolved soon.

I did just call and spoke to a lovely person in Customer Service. She said they will ship it out Standard Delivery and it should be here by the 23rd. That gives me two days to enjoy the tree topper as long as she doesn't come broken (please keep your fingers crossed on this one).

I appreciate everyone's advice and look forward to finally receiving her in one piece! Spread that Pixie Dust!!! :wizard: :wizard:
 
I hope everything works out for you this time. It's definitely a good idea to call Disney Shopping if something is wrong with your order. I had ordered a brunette My Favorite Disney Girl doll for my DD, and when it arrived, it was the blonde doll. I called, and spoke with a very friendly CM. He told me he would ship out the brunette doll immediately, and to keep the blonde doll. I had planned on donating it to charity, but when I told a friend about what had happened, she said she wanted the blonde doll for her DD. She even paid me half of the doll's cost. So, she got a gift for her DD, and I got mine for half of what I originally paid!! :goodvibes
 
I had a problem with an item arriving damaged from WDW merchandising. The second one they sent was broken also. They made a note on our account to package it extra carefully. The third one arrived fine and they didn't make me send back the broken ones. I would call them if I were you.
 
Disney Shopping was very accomodating when my Alice in Wonderland plate arrived broken...BOTH times!! They shipped another without question and the third time was the charm. ;) I know what you mean, though...it is very frustrating, especially when you're concerned that the item may sell out. It really seems like Disney would package their items (esp. breakables) more carefully. The plates really weren't cushioned well at all. The first time there were two broken plates, the Queen of Hearts and the Caterpillar. The second time it was just the Caterpillar (my favorite character besides the Cheshire Cat. Anyway, I'm crossing my fingers for you...hope you get her intact this time! Happy holidays!
 
I DSis's Tink tree topper also came with a broken wing. Instead of going through the hassle of returning, she glued it and it looks good as new!
 
Did any one here realize that DisneyShopping.com does not give price adjustments when items go on sale ??? I ordered a jacket on Monday and on Wednesday it was $20.00 cheaper. Customer Service told me "too bad, there's nothing we can do for you !!!" In the past, Disney ALWAYS gave me the adjustments. Any comments ???????????
 
Today I got my tinker bell topper and yes before I opened it I could hear the wing rolling around. :rolleyes:
It makes you wonder how many one winged tinks are out there.

Well I promised a follow-up with my Tinkerbell Tree Topper wing issue:

As you know, I ordered my topper twice and both times one of her wings arrived broken. I asked for help from my budget members and took the advice to call disney.

I did and a very nice rep said they would send another free of charge and keep the broken one. She said it would arrive on the 23rd.

So I guess 3rd time IS the charm! She came today and I gave the box a little shake and heard nothing...so I opened it and PERFECTION! She is so pretty and sits on my tree so nicely!

Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement! I am so very happy now and excited I get to enjoy my Tink for a little longer since she came early :)

i must have gotten lucky my tink tree topper came monday nothing broken was packed great but it sure took a long time to come 11 days that was the slowest shipping of any company i've dealt with this christmas, but sure she sure looks pretty on my tree.
