I'm sure this has been addressed, so please forgive me! I want to make sure I understand this process. We will pay for the remainder of our trip with our Disney Visa, so that card will be on file. But then once we arrive we can ask that our redemption card be placed on our account as a credit, and then use our Magic Bands to charge any purchases/tips/etc to our account during our trip so they will come off of the redemption card balance.

Is that correct?

Not really.

Most CMs will not create a credit on your folio using your redemption card when you check in. You will probably need to either make your payments at the point of service by using your redemption cards, or visit the lobby concierge to pay on your room account with the redemption card before the hotel charges your CC.

Will your bill close in time and will you have money on the redemption card? If so, they can't put it on file, but you can go to the front desk and make a payment toward anything you charged to your room. They won't allow you to post the balance in advance. Depending upon your resort, the amount you're permitted to charge varies. Values=$500, Mods = $1000, and DLX=$1500 (??) so go before you reach that amount or they will automatically charge it to your credit card.

no.
the redemption card is basically a gift card.
gift cards cannot be put on file to charge things to your room.
a CREDIT CARD must be on file to charge things to your room.
you can charge things to your room and then go down every day or two to pay off the charges with a gift card if you rather pay via gift card instead of credit card.

What we have done in the past is put a credit card on file for all charges, and the night before check-out we pay out balance with either gift cards we get from local grocery stores for fuel perks or pay with cash. Any charges made after the account is closed out will be billed to the credit card on file.

The are thresholds for each resort level and if your outstanding balance approaches that threshold, your credit card will be charged. In the past, it has been $500 for Value Resorts, $1000 for Moderates and $1500 for Deluxes. However, there have been reports of CCs being charged well before the balance reached that level. The charges can be reversed, but you shouldn't wait until the night before checkout to resolve your account if you want to avoid it.
