Another Delta/Magical Express Question

Delta has switched my flights 3 times already, and I'm probably looking at another switch before our July trip.

Do I have to call Disney each time they change, or should I just wait until the day before we leave and hope that schedule "sticks"? I think it seems useless to keep calling and telling them new info when it keeps changing.

Just make sure that DME has your current flight numbers 6-8 weeks before you travel. After that, significant flight changes are unlikely. If the airline subsequently changes your flight times by a few minutes, don't worry about it. As long as the flight numbers are unchanged, DDE will look up the correct flight times.

I wouldn't worry about it.

If it is your arrival flight that is changing, as long as your resort is correct on your yellow tags, you are fine. They use the flight numbers and times for personnel scheduling, but if a few folks come in totally different, no big deal.

Now for your departure, if that flight time is changing, just tell the ME desk person when you confirm your trip back and also mention it to the desk at your resort when you check in.

When your bus trip time shows up on your door the day before you leave, confirm that it is correct, then you are set.

Thanks. Now I'll just do the math and figure out exactly when 6-8 weeks out will be, and then I'll call Disney with my "current" flight info. :)

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with someone for the first time on this board. I too booked on Delta and have had my flights changed 3 times... the last one being last week. (We are down to 4 weeks before our trip.) They have even changed flight numbers and plane types.

Although I have been told that the strike situation has been settled :cool1: I have also been told that the plans may change yet again :(

Sorry for the "bad" news....

I said that significant flight changes 6-8 weeks before you travel are unlikely — but I didn't say it never happens.

I stand by my advice. There's no reason to update the DME reservation every time the airline makes any changes the reservation. Make sure that the flight numbers in the DME reservation are correct 6-8 weeks before you travel. Then don't bother calling DME again unless a flight number changes.

I don't think it really matters what the yellow tags say as far as your flights go. It's important that they have the correct resort name on it. If you are concerned about DME having different flight times (MCO arrival I would imagine) then I would call them a few days before the flight and give them the updated info. That way, they will have it correct in their system. Same thing for the return flight...you just want to make sure they have the right times for coming and going so they can plan buses accordingly.
