Another death at WDW

I don't understand what happened. Did the ride break free while someone was working on it?

The other woman died in 2007 not last year. Since we don't know if it was negligence on the part of the worker or some sort of malfunction, it's hard to tell who is at fault. Regardless, it is truly a sad thing to have happened. Hope they get to the bottom of it.

Sounds to me like it's time to replace Primeval Whirl.

That ride is such an eyesore anyways. I always feel like I'm at some cheap Home Days festival when I see it.

So sorry to hear about the worker. I was surprised to read that Disney was fined a mere $21,000 for the first accident.

While I'm no fan of Primeval Whirl, or the entire Dinoland area, it's too early to know whether these two deaths were caused by the same thing.

True. Both cases were head injuries that later caused death, but might not necessarily have been caused by the same thing.

Whether it was a malfunction or negligence on the CMs' part, I still say remove it. The same type of accident happening twice in 4 years and causing the deaths of two CMs, I would hope they would not want to continue to risk CMs' safety with this particular attraction.

Sorry to hear that someone passed away.

But I love Primeval Whirl. For some reason it's one of my favorites. I hope the death truly had nothing to do with the ride.

Has it been confirmed that the second CM died? As of this AM's newscast, s/he was in critical condition.

You are contradicting yourself. Whether the deaths were caused by the same problem or not is yet to be seen. Why advocate removing a ride just because the injuries were similar? Until there is evidence that the same malfunction caused both deaths, I don't think there is any reason to call for the ride's removal. Closure until a complete investigation is done, absolutely, but permanent closure would be premature at this point in time.

I meant if it comes out that they were caused by the same problem, regardless of whether the problem was a malfunction or the same negligence on the part of the CM.

My prayers go out to the CM and his family:sad1:
