OK I'm getting ready to purchase my DDE card and I noticed in the info that it says only 1 DDE card per table, are they sticking to this rule? We will be dining with another family who has a DDE card and having 2 separate checks is this going to be a problem? I know some restaurants are reluctant to split checks with only 1 card but how about splitting them when each party has their own card? I can't really see why they wouldn't allow this. Those of you with this kind of DDE experience please clue me in.

I would think that if each party had their own card it would not be an issue. When the server comes just tell them you want two seperate checks if a member of each party has their own card it should not be an issue.

This may have to do that they issue you two cards for a family.

In re-reading yours -- you will have two separate families using two separate DDE cards. That should be fine. I think they just try to avoid splitting checks all the time.

As always -- it depends.
They use to bend the rules more so than now.
It is one card per table, and no splitting of checks.
So prepare for that in case that happens. And it very well may.
Sometimes I have asked the server if they will split checks and the response is yes, until it gets to the hands of the manager. Then they stick straight to the written policies.
Up until March of this year they were pretty accomodating. Now it is more rare they will do as requested for anything outside if the written policy.
I really don't think it is the servers. They seem to want to do what they can to makle the guest happy.
I had one time where the server said Yes he would split the checks, but then was told he could not. I think he felt bad and allowed the party at our table to use my DH's DDE card. That was fine with us. But was outside of the rules.
The servers just want guests to be happy, tip well and be in and out.
Yes, they can split tickets and probably about any other requests. Will they? Maybe.
Plan on the written policy, and be happy if you get anything else you request regarding the meal bill.

Just got me DDE card today. It states that it is good for up to 10 people in a party at a table.

You can use one DDE card if you are having 1 check, or two if you are splitting the checks.

I would not be too sure of this if the two DDE cards are from the same household.
Unless things have changed just recently:
"Members shall receive a 20% discount on all food and beverage (including alcohol) for up to 10 people at participating table-service Disney restaurants Discount applies to member's check only. One Disney Dining card per table. Two cards cannot be combined. Member must be present to receive discount."

That being said, we know Disney rules and policy are as firm as jello. ;)
They are good about making rules. Following them is another issue. :sunny:
