Another DCL on points question...

DFi & I used our points (nearly 3 years worth! :( ) to book a DCL cruise & 3 days at OKW for our honeymoon this summer. When I made the cruise ressie through DVC, I was told that any changes to our ressie through them would incur another $95 fee. We've recently decided we want to change our dinner time on the ship from the early seating to the later seating... so my question is, do I have to call DVC to do this & incur the fee, or can I call DCL directly (& hopefully avoid the fee)? Does anyone know?

Also, b/c of an issue I didn't realize existed, I'll likely have to change my passport number on the ressie as well... would they actually charge me a fee for that? Anyone know?

Thanks!

I dont think they'll charge an addtn'l $95 if you want to change early to late seating, because it's more like a request. Now, changing a date or adding another passenger would incur another $95 fee. I believed you can call DCL directly for your dining request and changing passport #'s.

I could be wrong, but I don't think those are the kinds of changes they're referring to. And I believe you can just supply the new passport number when you complete your cruise docs online. I don't think that has to go thru MS. We have a cruise booked on points for this summer and I call DCL with my questions, not DVC! Once you have a DCL ressie number they will talk to you! I think you would have to pay the $95 again if you changed stateroom categories or sailing dates or something like that. Bcuz they would treat it as a new booking. I think you should be safe with what you want to do for now.:thumbsup2

I booked a cruise yesterday on points and after getting my stateroom assignment I called back to see if requesting another room would incur the $95 fee. The MS person I talked to said no and called DCL to see if the room was available. It was not, but now I know to try that request again directly with DCL.

OK well, I just tried calling DCL direct to check on availability of another stateroom and was told I would have to go through Member Services. They (DCL) are not allowed to alter any DVC initiated ressies. Just an FYI.

You need to call MS for everything DCL would not even answer a question for me once they new I was traveling on DVC points.

We are going on points two and I wasn't happy with the deck I received the ms person explained that any changes that would not incur a cash change, i.e. lateral stateroom just different location, dinning time, adding transfers, etc. would not incur a fee. You need to pay a fee if you do something that would cost more cash, i.e. change your date, upgrade your stateroom, etc.
