Why doesn't Disney extend sidewalk from RIV ro hollywood?

All other deluxe resorts have a walk option to somewhere all except RIV. VGF prior to the walkway always had the boat or monorail option - two options RIV only has the option of the skyline - there are no buses to epcot or hollywood unless skyline goes down.
This isn't entirely true.
Animal Kingdom Lodge isn't walking distance to any park. A bus is required even for Animal Kingdom.
Wilderness Lodge has a boat to Magic Kingdom but isn't walking distance to anywhere except Fort Wilderness.
Riviera is walking distance from Caribbean Beach.

Animal kingdom is completely different - that one is really more about the experience and there are other things offered there - as I think that is the only resort that offers club level rooms. CCV can walk to fort wilderness which offers many many activities.

But not everyone likes the skyline. My son will not ride in it. When we stay there he drives to the parks. All other deluxe resorts have a walk option to somewhere all except RIV. Your initial statement is still incorrect. Riviera is not the only deluxe resort from which you cannot walk somewhere. Animal Kingdom lodge does not have walking capability to anywhere currently.

I also agree it will never be built due to minimal use. We own at BW and walk to DHS multiple times a trip at different times of the day. Quite often we are the only people on the entire path.

As a RIV owner, I'd love a walking path option to/from DHS and EPCOT. I love the Skyliner and think it is a fun little ride. But in addition to times when it is down due to weather or maintenance, there are some times when it can have an extremely long line. For example, at park close or right after Fantasmic or Luminous wrap up, the Skyliner line can be 45+ minutes long.

There are some challenges getting across some very busy roads, though.

Besides CBR, is there another deluxe resort near (already built) that Riv could potentially share bus service with in the future?

Because they wouldn’t earn enough revenue for it to be worth the expense relative to other places they can spend the money.

I call a rideshare if I'm near a convenient pickup point. It sometimes takes some time for the buses to start their rotation.
We missed a dining reservation waiting 45m (that’s when we gave up and called a cab to the front gate, I don’t know how much longer it actually took) for a bus to Epcot after the skyliner went down. That was when I decided we wouldn’t considering buying RIV.

I agree, especially as RIV is nearly sold out now— I blame all of you who bought RIV instead of holding out for a walking path to World Showcase and/or DHS. 😋

There’s no longer a publicly accessible, walking path between CCV and Fort wilderness

When the skyliner goes down does everyone bus it?

Was just at WDW at BCV for 2 weeks in the middle of summer (July).

The skyliner essentially never went down it seemed. We took the skyliner a couple times when the boats were actually not running at all.

I reported it on the RIV thread but I was shocked how it finally has taken a 180 and is running through weather way more than it used to.

So yes they would take a bus today to get back to the resort but seemingly the chances are much slimmer these days that you see the Skyliner go down.

I noticed this in May and asked the boat captains - the "zone" was changed so the boats are now stopped before the skyliner. Apparently there is a perimeter where if lightning strikes within x miles they stop. It changed recently as far as the size for boats and skyliner.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned, but there is a belief out there that the only reason Disney invested into the GF-MK walking path is because, at some point, another resort will be built in between.

If that does happen, the GF-MK walking path will be an asset to most guests at that hypothetical resort. Whereas I'm not sure a Riviera-EP walking path would be as much of an asset to most guests (as nice as it might be for some).
