We are staying in CSR (following ASMo and before AKL) in June. When I called today all that is left is "water view" which we hadn't considered. Since we'll be paying for it we want to get the best location. I've reviewed lots of posts and 2 wonderful websites (thanks Buzz2001 and Epcotfan :D ). It looks like Cabanas 9B is the perfect location. Does it also have a nice waterview?

Next question if you don't mind :) . I REALLY would like to stay in the Ranchos section as we live in Texas and have palm trees in the backyard so the cactus and arrid look is more appealing than the tropical that the Cabanas have. Anyone know how far (minutes) the walk is from the closest building in the Ranchos section to El Centro? We don't mind walking a little but will have 4 kiddos in tow when we go to eat. Thanks for any help!

Hi onceuponadream!
I would say it would take approximately 15 minutes (at a very casual pace) from the Ranchos to El Centro. Less time if you are a fast walker. It is a lovely walk. I do like the plentiful cacti in that area. Lots of lizards to be seen there and interesting bubbling pools. In comparison it took me about 6 minutes from Casita 1 to the Dig Site.

With 4 kids in tow, I'd try and stay closer to the Pepper Market than the Ranchos section. I was there a few years ago with an 11 and 8 year old and the Cabanas section was perfect!

We requested Ranchos during our last trip and I would say walking as you normally do, it would take 10 minutes to get to El Centro. We were so pleased with Ranchos we will request it next time we go to WDW. It was quiet and preaceful and better themed than Cabanas and Casistas. We had a corner room view from the 2nd floor of the Ranchos pool which was always quiet. And loved being away from the main area. :)

I've staying in the Casitas and Cabans sections of CBR several times and I would recommend you stay in Castias 3, not only does this building have AMAZING waterviews (of the lake and Dig Site across the lake) it also has amazing atmosphere. There are fountains, courtyards and topiaries everywhere in this section, just BEAUTIFUL! Other bonuses are that you right beside the pepper market food court and about 5 minutes (10 tops) from the main pool and about 5 minutes from the Casitas quiet pool. Hope this helped you out :)

Feel free to PM me and ask any other questions :)

Enjoy your trip :)

TinkerBell_325---I do like the look of the Casitas for a second choice. I was afraid there would be tons of convention guests in that area and the chance of getting a room request there would be slim. Was it really only a 5 minute walk to the pool?? That would be perfect and close to El Centro. I really prefer either of the two other sections theming to the Cabanas simply because it looks so much like home (plus we take a Florida"beach vacation" every year). Hmmmm something to think about :D . I wonder what the chances of getting a Casitas room would be if requested  . I know that there are no standard rooms available for our dates which leads me to believe there is probably a large convention ...

Tnkrbl2199--A 10 minute walk isn't too bad. We were in Trinidad North at CBR last year and I'm thinking that's about how long the walk was there...didn't time it and I should have! Thanks for the help!

epcotfan--what do you mean by bubbling pools? That sounds really neat. My kids would love the lizzards too.

Gabrielle--exactly what I was thinking. I was hoping someone would tell me the resort is actually smaller than it looks and I should go ahead and go for Ranchos!

Thanks to everyone for the room help!!:) :D

There are several shallow bubbling pools of water scattered throughout the Ranchos. You can see the pictures and video of the ranchos on my website.
