another consideration - airfare

With S/W if you book a lower cost flight, you get a credit in the same person's name, valid for 1 year from the original purchase date. So, if you don't plan another trip within 1 year your credit is gone. This has FORCED us to make extra trips, I hate to waste that credit LOL

Travelocity also offers a fare gaurantee. If you see your flights for a lower fair they will refund you the difference. We used to fly southwest exclusively, but lately they have gotten to be more expensive than some other options we have.

I thought the travelocity guarantee was only if you found a cheaper flight within 24 hours of your reservation? That guarantee also exists with airlines, as you can almost always cancel a flight within 24 hours of booking and then rebook.

For me, I feel like flight prices definitely factor into everything in for me and it's definitely a fear. There's very few nonstop flights from Seattle to MCO, so I'm fairly at the mercy of the prices!

That said, there are specific day of the week that are generally cheaper to fly (Tu, W, Th). My plan is to book trips that utilized the cheapest overall days to fly and avoid anything close to holidays. Hopefully that will minimize costs sufficiently. :)

Ah yes! You are correct. I missed a comma in their description. Hotels last up until the day before check in, not flights.
