Ok, this is very weird, and kind of hard to explain:

Sometimes, all Jpeg and Gif images on the internet decline in quality. For instance, one minute a picture is as clear as can be, but then the next it'll be all blurry and fuzzy and icky. I have to right click and select "View Original Image", and then it looks alright again. A few hours will pass, and all images will go back to good quality. It's the same routine everyday.

I didn't explain that very well, but does anyone know what's up? It's very weird, and it never happens on other computers.

Thanks in advance!

Is it only happening on your browser, or is it also happening when you are looking at photos on your hard drive?

If it's only happening when you browse the internet, there may be a conflict between your video card and browser...or a corrupted .dll file. In that case I would suggest reloading your browser software or using a different internet browser.

If it's happening when you're not on the internet, you could either be losing your monitor or your video card. To test that, first attach another monitor to your machine (borrow one from a friend if you don't have an extra one around). If it still happens, you need a new monitor. Otherwise, you need to replace the video card.

This happened to me for a machine I was using at my kids' school last year. It turned out to be both the video card AND the monitor!

one other thought---is it happening with other types of images other than .jpgs and .gifs?

It only happens on my internet browser. For the other types of images, they look alright.

Thanks for the help! ^_^

Sometimes, if your ISP has a "download accelerator", one of the ways it "speeds up" download times is by compressing images, which would give that "fuzzy image" look only in your browser.

That's my guess.

As a computer geek, I agree with this one.

And of course, I will take this opportunity to suggest that you use the firefox browser - it's much more secure, faster, and free. www.getfirefox.com

Everyone should be using this!
