I just ordered our invitation supplies two days ago. I printed up a mock here at home and had no problem..but I have several questions that only my other lovely DISbrides here can answer....:grouphug:

  1. Did anyone comment about you not having raised lettering if you printed them out yourself?
  2. Did you use a different color ink? I know black is the "correct color according to etiquette" but I want grey/silver
  3. Did you use an outter & inner envelope?
  4. If you didn't use an inner envelope, how did you address your invites to make it clear that children or a guest was invited?
  5. Aprox how much was your postage?
  6. Did anyone comment that your invite wasn't laid out in the traditional way? (ie, response card & envelope outside and infront of the invite)

Thank u SO SO much in advance!:goodvibes
I'm excited to make mine!

Hope this helps-
1. Nope! Noone said anything.
2. i used black and navy ink
3. i put the invite in an inner envelope and we mailed them in mailer boxes. We put the names of those invited (informally) on inner envelope
4. We put 1.91 on each--the box was more than an envelope would be
5. We got great responce from ours, everyone loved them!
:)

Thank you!! I love the box idea! That would definately solve the whole inner/outter issue. One more Q...did you address the boxes by hand/printer/calligrapher? thanks :)

i got labels that were the same color as the box and printed them!- And used big round labels-punched them out with the big Mickey punch to seal the boxes! Little Hidden Mickey!:)

  1. Did anyone comment about you not having raised lettering if you printed them out yourself? I sent mine out wednesday only local guest in fl recieved it. Guest is NJ should be any day. I dont think anyone will say anything. I'm using raised ink with my mickey fans though.
  2. Did you use a different color ink? I know black is the "correct color according to etiquette" but I want grey/silver I used black....
  3. Did you use an outter & inner envelope? The only envelope I used were the rsvp and the one I mailed them in
  4. If you didn't use an inner envelope, how did you address your invites to make it clear that children or a guest was invited? Here is how I addressed mine. Mr. John Doe & Guest, Mr. & Mrs. John Doe, If they had children I did on one line Mr. & Mrs. John Doe Next line is Miss Jane Doe (if there was one child just listed the name) If there was a bunch just did and family.
  5. Aprox how much was your postage? Mine came out to be 1.8 oz so made the 58 cent however the post office said they were to thick to go through the machine so I had to add an ugly sheep stamp which was 17 cent for them to do it buy hand ( I had in mine the main folder with a silver mat and the white cardstock invite on that. In the pocket I used 5 inserts all cardstock and the rsvp envelope. Outside had ribbon and I took the mats and cut them into 2 1/2 inch squares and put our inital and date on lazer paper with two little crystals.)
  6. Did anyone comment that your invite wasn't laid out in the traditional way? (ie, response card & envelope outside and infront of the invite)
From the local people who have gotten it they love them and thought it was different.

I'm going to be using cards and pockets too and I was wondering the same exact thing about how to address the outer envelope since I'm not using an inner envelope. I've heard some sources say using "and guest" is okay, but others have said not to use it. Oh, the decisions!
