I am having a candy buffet for DS's 5th birthday! I was thinking about getting little mason jars maybe the 8 oz ones and decorating the outside with their names and some other stickers.
Does that sound like an ok idea or do you think they will be too small?
TIA

Go to a dollar store and buy a plastic jar or buy boy themed decoritive boxes like disney

What about the little chinese food takeout boxes? Easy to decorate and not breakable.

I wanted to use the mason jars because I kind of wanted it to look like sand art with all the different color so the kids could see.
If that makes sense.
I am extremely clumsy and have dropped mason jars a lot and they dont break that easy plus we will be on carpet.
I will look for plastic jars

I love candy buffets & your idea sounds cute. I'm not sure if it's just my area, but I know most of my friends would not let their children eat most of the candy. Then they would have a fight on their hands taking the candy from the kids. Ending the party with a bunch of screaming, crying 5 year olds, not fun. I'm sure you know if most of your friends would allow their 5 year olds to eat all that candy. Have fun at your party.

They can take the candy home and eat it (or not) there. The candy buffet is a "favor" you leave with, not usually eat at the party.

I think the idea is nice but I would get plastic jars. Dollar Tree has all that stuff.

I got these plastic candy balls from Party City for about $.99 each but I had a coupon $10 off $30 so it made it a bit cheaper but its kinda like a Pokemon ball but one half of it is a solid color and the top is clear and they twist together. I prefilled mine cuz the place we had the party at didn't allow that much time between events. It's big enough to hold a full size Twix bar and other candies. HTH
