I made a post about a reservation issue, but thought I would make a seperate one related to this.

There will be two vegetarians in our party, we're going for dinner (due to work obligations, we can't go for lunch)

I tried looking up a menu online, and the only vegetarian thing I saw was a mushroom dish, and of course both of the vegetarians we are going with hate mushrooms. Lol- our luck right?

I saw that they offer vegetable sides with the dinner plates, do you know if they would make that it into a meal?

Thanks!

You can also get the cheese monte cristo, even though it's not on the menu. I loved it when I was a vegetarian, though it's quite rich.

Thanks for that tip, because that is what I really wanted to order (with the meat!). I'll let them know!

I don't think the Monte Cristo (either version) is available for dinner. They may, however, be able to offer you other vegetarian alternatives. I would recommend that you call ahead to make sure and then remind them when you get there. Enjoy!

They might not be on the menu during dinner, but I'm pretty sure you can still order them. I'm hoping someone else will pipe in and confirm that..

I'm going to be sure to call after work to double check, if not, I don't know if we'll go, it's pricey to be eating foods they don't like :-/

Hi...I worked at the Blue Bayou a couple of years ago. At that time the Monte Cristo could NOT be ordered at dinner. This might have changed, but I just want you to be aware ahead of time that ordering a cheese Monte Cristo might not be an option. However, just let the server know and I am sure they will find a way to accomodate you. Calling in ahead of time and speaking to a chef may even be a better idea. Good luck!!

Ayep.

Let them know that at Royal St. Veranda there's a vegetarian gumbo in a breadbowl...yummo!

Then maybe they can just have dessert with you at BB. :upsidedow

Have you made the call yet? I could be wrong but I was under the impression if you gave the chef at least 48 hours notice they could accomadate most meal requests.

Honestly, the food, service and selection is better at Stoyteller's over in the GC. The Blue Bayou has disappointed or irritated a number of my friends and family over the last year or so. Sad, but it seems to have gone way down hill.

If it were up to me, I would choose something else over the Blue Bayou. It's just what the out of town guests wanted to do, so I was nice and agreed. I'd much rather do the lunch menu if anything. I'm just never big on paying that much money for something that you eat!

Well I don't go to the BB for the food :rotfl: . It is only an atmosphere thing for us. Maybe if we went more often we would not want to go but as it is I love eating there just to sit back and relax in the pirate ride.

I called to check and they will not make any special dishes.

Whoops./

Well this is the answer to the question on the website:

Special dietary needs - including vegetarian and medically restricted diets - can often be accomotated at select table service restaurants. Please request special meals at least 24 hours in advance at (714) 781-DINE.

Maybe BB isn't a select table service restaurant or maybe they assume since they already have the one vegertarian option they don't have to do anything else. Maybe you should tell them that your friends are allergic to mushrooms :rotfl: . Or maybe request the very last lunch seating and have an early dinner. That is what we did.

Sadly I am working until 5, so the earliest I can go is the 6:30 time. I am going to try calling back and explaining again, and if not, we'll just go elsewhere while the others eat there.
