Another BC or Poly question

I have booked the BC for 7 nights in early-mid May 03 - but after reading the other post about BC vs. Poly I'm questioning my decision.
It will be my husband, myself and our almost 5 yr old daughter. I haven't been to the BC and haven't been to the Poly in probably 30 yrs so I'd love some advice. My thinking on the BC was that since we were going in May the MK would probably only be open until 6 or 7 as I can tell and our plan would be to wake up and go to a park then come back in afternoon for some time at SAB or rest/snack/etc. Then head to dinner somewhere in the Epcot/Boardwalk area. We go out to eat quite often with our daughter so she is very accustomed to this and behaves well. I picked BC b/c I thought being near areas that are open later would give us more options in the evening.

I was thinking Illuminations would be the only fireworks at that time - am I correct?

Would love to hear any thoughts on my thinking!

Thanks,
Hilary

That is exactly why we picked an Epcot resort this time for our trip. In January we stayed at the GF and loved it but there wasn't much to do at night without having to get on a bus again.

In August we stayed at the YC and loved being able to just walk over to Epcot or the boardwalk. A lot of times we thought we were done for the day and then about 7:30 or so we would just walk over to Epcot and just enjoy it. Our kids are 8 and 5 and we also eat out often and the variety of restaurants was wonderful.
