(Sorry, this isn't really a topic for the Photo Board, but I hang out here more than any other board on the DIS.)
We just returned on June 16 from a wonderful trip to WDW. I knew the band was planning a trip this school year, but someone on the band booster board told me the trip would be in March, someplace warm, and (quoting her) "NOT Disney"; no "official" details could be released until the school board gave its blessing.
Well, the school board voted last night, and my boys came home from band practice today with the news: the trip is NOV. 28-Dec. 4, it IS a trip to WDW, and they're staying on-site this time.
Why am I panicking?? I WANT TO GO!! Their last band trip was in Dec. 2005, and I LOVED seeing the parks all decorated for Christmas. The last trip was also our first trip that wasn't in hot, hot, hot June, and I loved the cooler weather. But......
I carried over a bunch of vac. days from last year, so I should have enough days to go, but I'm not sure about DH, esp. since our oldest DS will be a senior in HS so we're taking days here and there this summer to check out colleges. And our just-completed trip is far from being paid off. Luckily, our boys are 15 and 17, so they're old enough to understand that if we're going on another WDW trip, we're going to have a lean Christmas this year.
But the biggest reason I'm panicking is that it's almost July, and I need to make reservations ASAP if DH and I are going to go! At least it's the week after Thanksgiving, but rooms might still be hard to come by. And if I'd have known about the trip earlier, I could have purchased annual passes instead of park hoppers OR I could have purchased non-expiring park hoppers and added some extra days to cover the winter trip. Grrrrrrr.
Oh well, off to disneyworld.com to see what's available.
And maybe I should start playing the Lottery????
