I haven't had an attack of IBS (Irritable bowel) since I started - usually got an attack at least once a week, involving major cramping and various other yucky bodily functions confining me to the loo for at leas 3/4 hour usually when I had to rush out for an appointment - and anything important that I got nervous about - weeeell - that was it - back to the loo!

Since 27/3 - nothing apart from when I had a low carb bar with maltitol in - grrrr!

Truly excellent:p

Elise,
Glad to hear your not such a frequent visitor to the loo!:p It really sounds like Atkins is the thing for you! Keep up the good work!

Keep the Faith!

I've had those in the past too...just figured I ate something that didn't agree with me...didn't connect it with Carbs...but come to think of it haven't had any in 2 weeks...

Yes, sugar is definitely an IBS trigger, so by reducing your carbs and sugars you should definitely experience relief. Isn't that wonderful? I only know this 'cuz I have IBS (mostly in remission now) and when it was really bad a few years ago, my nutritionist took me off almost all sugars (tho' she didn't limit my carbs, just had me combine them w/protein every time I ate them) and it helped immensely! I hope it totally goes into remission for you Elise! :)

I have a friend eating the Atkins way who has had some real relief from GERD.

I'm glad you are getting such great results both weight loss and health improvement from your eating plan, Elise.

Well that is a good thing! ;) I suspect my sister suffers from IBS. She is a carbaholic. Of course, I think this is how she is able to eat boxes of mac n cheese and bags of doritos and still look slim and trim! ;)

Glad your body is enjoying this new lifestyle, Elise! :)
