I've read over on the dvc member board, that all persons must live at the same address and provide proof of that. But it states that parents, grandparents, siblings, in-laws ect. are eligable. Well how many of us live with the rest of our familys??

My partner and I will be travelling with our brother and sister, but they do-not live with us? So there for are not eligable. Plus over here in the UK if you don't have a driving licence, you don't have identification with your address on it. What then? Anybody experiencing the same problems?

Passage from the dvc site:

FAQs
Who is eligible to receive the discount?

Who is defined as "immediate family"?
"Immediate family" is defined by Walt Disney World Resort for discount purposes as noted below:

Child/Step Child
Brother, Sister/Step Brother, Sister
Brother-In-Law/Sister-In-Law

Grandchild

I think they should just provide them for who is staying with you when you go. For instance we will be taking my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter next year and the following year but they can't get the passes because they don't live with us. I think if the people have to be travelling with you would be better and stop abuse. You could have 6 people living in your house and only 2 travelling but could buy 6 passes. I think they have to sort out the bugs here.

Don't get me wrong for my above post - I AM trilled with this new perk - I'll take whatever I can get. We all just need to be patient if there are some bugs that need to be worked out. And I hope that people aren't trying to abuse it either - would hate to lose it.

You're right about the bugs. You have an interesting idea - we have an adult son who doesn't qualify - but it too is open for abuse. I could schedule one night at DVC with 4 or five other people and let them buy discounted APs. I could do that every other Tuesday until I run out of points (and if they each kick-back $50, there's airfare plus profit).

This is sort of stoopid and extreme, but it just illustrates how tough it is to come up with a solution that serves everyone yet isn't abusable.

It is much the same here in the US. However, if you don't have a drivers license most states (maybe all states?) will issue you a state ID card. It is issued by the same department that issues the drivers licenses, and looks much the same as a license. Do they have a similar thing in the UK?

Call DVC and ask. Only they can definitively address your situation. Any responses you get here are pure speculation or hearsay.

Because I don't drive in USA, I don't bring mine. I guess we need to check with DVC.

Nope,
and the old style drivers licences don't have a picture of you on it either! So my DH would have to carry his passport and license with him? There's not much need to carry id's over here. Even when we go into a pub we don't usually get asked for id unless we look really young, and I mean young!
