Another AP Upgrade Question (sorry)

I looked and did not see this. Sorry if it is in a thread I missed.

I am going this Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is a blackout day for AP. If I read correctly, I can buy an AP online and then make Saturday my first day of using it even though it is a blackout.

If I decide I want to do magic mornings, can I buy a ticket from my local disney store, get into the park early, and then go upgrade to my AP after that park starts getting a little more crowded?

Thanks in advance for the info and help. I was not planning on going this weekend, but someone at work wanted to switch some days and I ended up working early on Friday, off Sat and Sun, and late on Mon. I was going to get my AP in October when I went, but figured I would just do it now.

Yes, you can upgrade from a hopper to an AP on a block out day after you have used your MM. I normally recommend doing it this way to take advantage of the MM. Have fun!

Sounds like you know this, but just to be nitpicky, the ticket you use has to be a 3 or more day ticket, to get the MM.

thanks for the help. I am off tomorrow, so I am heading to the local disney store to pick up a ticket to use for MM on Saturday.
