Do you have to already own an AP when you call to book a room with AP rates? Or can you first see if you can get the reservations you need at an AP rate and then buy an AP? We aren't going till next Oct, but will be booking 3 rooms. We are thinking of splitting our stay between the Poly and AKL. From what I have read here it can be difficult getting exactly what you want with the AP rates. Since we need 3 rooms I would think it would be even more difficult. We don't have AP and wouldn't revisit within a year. But so many of you have posted such great savings using AP.
Sorry so long. This AP stuff just seems so complicated to simple ol' me! :D

Yes, you can book the room before you actually have the AP. You just have to show it at check in. Also, if you will not be returning within the year, only one person in your party has to purchase the AP to get the room discount.

You do not have to have the AP in hand to get the AP rate, but you do have to have one before you check into your resort. I will be purchasing mine on the way down to WDW in Ocala in Dec. I believe that you can book up to 3 rooms at the AP rate if available. I will be trying to do the same with a Jan. ressie at POR. Right now I have AAA discount. Hoping for better and keeping my fingers crossed. If not, we will just go with AAA. A little discount is better than none.

Thanks so much. I'm sure the questions I post have probably been asked and answered before. All the people participating on these boards are just so wonderful, knowledgeable, helpful, etc.!!!! :sunny:
