Another Annual Pass Question

I've had annual passes in the past from disneyland itself.
I no longer have one (it expired last year) so I would like to buy new ones online. If I buy them online, would that be the date that the annual passport would start (My kids are going in July, I am not going until December with them, and then again in February)
If they do activate the first day of use, then is there a time frame to activate it from the time you get it. If I order mine tomorrow, it is 8 months until I use it. If I just order my kids, it would be 3 months for them.
I cannot find answer to this at disneyland site.
Any help would be appreciated.

I believe there's a timeframe (a few months maybe?) in which you have to activate it. 8 months out would be too far; no idea on the 3 months out. But yes, once it is activated your year starts with the date of first use.

I called the DLR directly and asked this question quite a while back. I was afraid of orderinf too early. Can't remember the exact time frame but they actually start the year period the first day you enter the parks using them, not when you receive them in the mail. Seems like you have a couple months to get them activated...mayube call them and get the exact time so you don't oreder them too early.

You may want to consider buying park hoppers, then upgrading before the trip is over. It will cost you the same amount ( the full purchase price is given as a credit). That way you'll have an EE day to use, and you'll probably be able to avoid blackout days. Unless you are going for the expensive pass and staying onsite-then it doesnt matter.

AP vouchers must be used within 3 months of purchase (or date on back of voucher). If you do not use the voucher within this time frame, you will be asked to pay any price increase that has occured between the time you purchased your voucher and the time you exchange it.
