Another Akl Refugee!

You were bumped from a concierge room at AKL?? All the other threads have said the concierge level guests were safe and would not have to move!!

In terms of being "comped" it sounds like it only happens if you actually attempt to check in at AKL and are forced, at that point, to go to another resort. I've read of one person getting $50/day and another getting $100/day for their inconvenience.

We were also booked in a deluxe concierge room at akl and were contacted about moving. We are now at a Lagoon View Club level room at the Polynesian. As far as I know everyone is being contacted about moving.

We are staying in savannah view the end of October. Has there been any mention past Sept.1st? We are doing a grand gathering and I'm hoping everything goes well. I would like to stay at AKL, but I also don't want there to be a lot of construction or fewer animals. I'm really not that hard to please I just have visions of jackhammers and dump trucks from by balcony

Anyone staying in Oct. that has called CRO? I'm not sure what to do.

I just assumed that they were not moving CL from the AKL, I guess they really mean business. I'm sorry that you had to move, I totally understand the disappointment. Did you get a good room at Contemporary at least? All they offered me there was a garden view room.

I think depending on what will be closed they have to move some CL guests because there simply isn't enough of those rooms to go around, for what they booked.

wdwcoltsfan - I really wouldn't worry about October. It's too stressful to worry this early, and things should be fine then.

Thanks! I really hadn't given it much thought until I saw another thread about AKL being closed until who knows when. If it were just my family, I would go with the flow, but it's those darn extra family members that make me worry a little more.

We won't mind switching resorts, especially if there is a monorail available, then again the Epcot resorts could be cool too! It's a wonder I ever make a decision!

My understanding (which could be totally wrong of have changed) is that the CL standard rooms at AKL are not being moved. All the CL deluxe rooms are the ones under construction, because those are what are being turned into the DVC rooms. I guess with the pushed up construction, they needed those rooms empty sooner than usual.

I'm in a standard CL room at AKL 8/17-24, and I haven't gotten the call yet, but it could happen at any time.
