Ok we have a late tea (3:50pm) booked at the Garden View Lounge and a dinner ADR for 8pm at Cape May (not my favourite --but on Dh's must do list). I tried to change the tea time or even book it for another day but unfortunately they are booked solid.

I am just returning now from a lovely local afternoon tea with dh (part of series of events dh has planned for our 10th  anniversary) and I am so STUFFED so I am wondering what to order at the GF and still have room for dinner. I was thinking if we had a late bf and had the tea for lunch. If Dh and I ordered the Buckingham could we just share this with our dd's (6 & 8) as I think adding the Mrs. Potts tea would be too much food. Is sharing allowed? I would get them their own pot of tea (they like herbal) but would they allow them to eat from our tea tray. I am not worried about saving $ I just don't want to get too full because if it's there I'll eat it (lol---hence why I am so stuffed right now). Final question, if we are allowed to share the Buckingham--is this still too much food--is it better to go a la carte?
Thanks :goodvibes

hhhmmm........we have done tea several times and it is very lovely. my first thought is to order a la carte. then at dinner if you are still "stuffed" you could just do the salad bar and maybe boiled shrimp. not sure about the sharing for the children. anyone know about sharing at tea?

The first time I went to the tea, I ordered the Buckingham Palace and I was STUFFED. I'm sure you could share it. They'll just bring out two cups, you'll get the same pot of tea and the same amount of food to just split.

The second time I went I didn't want all that food and I just ordered a la carte. All I really wanted was the scones, cream, and jam and one pot of tea. It was perfect and much cheaper.

I agree. Just order a couple of Buckingham teas and share with the girls. Like you, I find that by the time I have the sandwiches, the tarts, the scones and the desserts, it's pretty filling. You might even want to consider one Buckingham tea for you and hubby and one Mrs. Potts tea for the girls, with an extra cup. I'm sure you can share with no problems. No requirement that each person have the full afternoon tea extravaganza!

Tea is lovely. You might try showing up a little early to see if they can seat you a few minutes before your ADR. I think there are sometimes no shows as people plan to come over from MK and then get busy on rides and don't make it over.
