We are POFQ people, LOVE the small size of the resort and ease of bus service. We've had really good luck there and simply adore the resort. We've stayed there 3 times in a row now, though, and my DD (will be 12) and I are feeling adventurous. We think CBR looks AWESOME, but our only concern as we were looking at the resort map, is how numerous the bus stops are. Since we are going during Spring Break (yikes, our first time!), we hate the thought of stopping at 4 or 5 bus stops on our way out of the resort each morning. Is that how it works? Is it a deal breaker on a busy week in your experience? Tips/suggestions on the best area to request?

Thanks in advance!

There is more than 1 gate used by the buses entering and leaving the resort. Which one they use, and which bus stop is first or last on the route varies according to where the bus is coming from and which park it is going to. So no matter where you are you could be the first stop or the last stop.

We've stayed at CBR several times in Jamaica. Quite often we would be the first bus stop. Sometimes we would be one of the last. In our experience it never took more than 10 minutes to complete the loop and leave the resort. HTH.

CBR IS awesome! It's our favorite Moderate. Yes, each Village has it's own bus stop. Which we love because no matter where you are, you are close to one. The buses go in a loop, and depending on which entrance the bus comes into, either Jamaica or Martinique are the first stops.

We like Jamaica and when it's the first stop picked up, it is about 7-8 minutes until you are leaving CBR on your way to your park of choice. We find that to be acceptable and not even close to a deal breaker.

It takes us 2 minutes to get from our room to the Jamaica stop and then 8 minutes to be pulling out of CBR. Excluding waiting for our bus to arrive, that's 10 minutes. I have stayed at some resorts that has taken us 10 minutes to walk from our room to the bus stop. I'd rather spend the 7-8 minutes sitting on a cool bus making the rounds than walking in the heat to the bus stop.

When we stayed at POFQ this past june we stopped at Riverside almost every time. So to me that was no different than the bus stops at CBR. I wouldn't worry about it.

We stayed at cbr this year for spring break and the busses were great.

We loved the lake, grounds, and especially love all the quiet pools.

The bus route isn't quick, but its probably about the same as pofq/por route.

We love all the mods, cbr is great!

We stayed at cbr in April in a pirate room. They are all located in Trinidad south, the last section for bus pick up. During the morning rush, we always saw a cm at the stop with a radio ensuring more buses to our area. After talking to her, she said that many times they send buses to the beginning of the resort and a separate set to the later stops. I was able to get a seat every morning.

Thank you all for the reassuring info. We're going to give it a try. Just being back on the DIS after a no-trip-in-the-works hiatus is giving me that tummy-fluttering excited Disney feeling! :yay: LOVE coming here and learning from your experience!

It's been awhile since our CBR stay (2002), but we had a great experience with the buses. Even though there are multiple stops within the resort, it still didn't take more than about 10 minutes to get to any theme park, water park, or DTD. We have tried several other resorts since our CBR stay and the bus transportation at CBR has been the best out of all of the resorts we've stayed at.

That feeling is what keeps many of us going in our everyday lives lol!:goodvibes

There will always be horror stories from guests who experienced transportation issues at a particular resort.

Many people see the "seven bus stops" at CBR as a jaw dropping thing but once there, we found it to be no biggie. Compared to the shared routes of the Epcot and monorail bus routes, we find the larger moderates (and the shared route between POFQ and POR) with their multiple stops much better.

I always just allow plenty of time no matter where I am going. OUr spring break trip of this year found us often standing on the way to MK, but always getting on the bus just fine. To DHS and Epcot, our Jamaica stop was the first pick up. So we knew we'd be sitting to those parks. Going to the other stops after we boarded didn't bother us. Call me weird but I find riding the busses kind of relaxing (as long as I am sitting down of course) and looking out at the grounds was enjoyable. We did 11 nights at CBR, during spring break and did not rent a car. So those busses were a constant thing for us and that is the only time I remember it taking a long time. And even that was not really that long!

The only time we had a long bus ride within the resort itself was once on our way to Epcot. We got to the last stop and had to wait behind a couple of other busses while one loaded a scooter. Then our bus loaded a scooter once we got up to that stop. I think that time it took about 20 minutes total to make the resort loop. But then we got to Epcot very quickly once we left.

The good thing about CBR is that its the most centrally located moderate. So your trips to the parks are about even and not that far.

Its a great resort!
