Annual Salary Increases - What % does your company give?

Just went through my review and increase process. I was given one of the highest reviews for my dept so I'm assuming what I got was one of the highest percentage increase.

Well, it's a bit less noticeable than I would have liked.

Mine was 4.33%. My father works in education and averages 4.5%.

I'm not asking for your salary info, just curious as to what goes on in the world of increases.

You are very fortunate. I work for a non-profit and the highest we can get is 4.5% but everyone usually gets 3%. That is not guaranteed either. It can be lower based on your performance.

Not everyone gets raises - I work for lawyers and I don't get raises.

Oh wait, yes I did get one raise in the 7 years I've been here - it was 1% of my monthly salary.

My company doesn't give raises either, I have had stellar reviews for four years and I have gotten a whole lot of NOTHING. It sucks. I know many companies give 3-4 percent for standard of living. We are just lucky that my DHs company believes in rewarding their employees for hard work and he got a 22% increase last year!!

My company doesn't give any raises. I havent been there for too long and we all just got a 2% raise Supposedly, thats the first raise in 5 years. Oh well, dont plan on making a career out of this job anyway.

My company has no stadard amount, it's all merit based. A couple of people got nothing, I got 8% last year, and based on what my boss was saying last week (he feels I'm underpaid) I'm expecting at least that, possibly as much as 15% next year. After that I'm expecting it to level out and I'll get 3-5% a year.

I'm so sorry! I work for lawyers too, but we are a giant corporation (one of many in the city where I work) so I guess they have to do what they can to keep the good employees here. Although, if I was to leave today, I can make an extra couple grand down the road, but all that moving around is just annoying.

Frankly, my increase amounts to about one tank of gas per week - at today's prices that is. Who knows what tomorrow will bring!

I say go in and ask for a raise!!!!

Oh sorry, I just had to laugh so I would not cry!!!!
No raises here in years. I'm a travel agent, have been for 23yrs and have been at this agency for almost 15 of those and I'm pretty much at the top of the scale for this business!

Sad that gas, utilities, food etc go up but I'm still expected to make ends meet!

WOW!! I did not expect to hear that so many got no increases at all. How do you keep up with the cost of living (gas prices, milk prices, Disney vacations)?

Perhaps it is relative to the job market in your area?

I was out of the job market for 6 years as a SAHM and before that I worked for little "one man" firms. I really have no idea how all this works and what is the norm, but no increase in 3, 4, 7 years!!! They should be ashamed!!

I work for a very large publically held company....depending on the prior year performance the target (average) amount has been between 2-4%.

Around here, 3% is average. But, we get a "bonus/reward" based on both company performance and individual performance that can range from 7% - 15% of your salary.

maybe my math stinks, but if you are earning $40,000 a 3% raise would mean an extra $1,200 per year or $23. per week or .57 per hour???

I work for a small law firm. I've been here 7 years and have asked for a raise twice. The first time, after 1 year of work I got something crazy like .47 more. The second time they just uppped my pay my $1.25 . then I asked for a raise, no specific amount, and was given $50 more per week. Just a few months ago I was again given $100.00 more per week without asking! Plus the holiday bonus is pretty generous and they are great to work for.

But is everyone getting excited about .57 more per hour?

You'll notice by my signature that I go every OTHER year on disney cruises because it takes me that long to save! My next cruise won't be till 09! It takes me that long to save otherwise I'd go every year!
I work extra hours then take that $ and put it in my "cruise account" and I also do demo events for extra money.............my boss is well aware that I had to take second job!

I'd be happy with ANYTHING per hour......57cents looks good to people who don't get raises!

I've more than maxed out my salary cap so I don't get raises anymore. If I decided to change jobs and go somewhere else I'd have to take a pay cut to do it! I do get a yearly bonus though, based on performance, which is substantial.

Me too, managment was upset we weren't jumping up and down with the 1% last year. It helps but when the ceo gets a $4,000,000 bonues my 1% doesn't taste as good!

I work at a private university and on average our raises are 3-4% I used to work for the county and it ranged from 2-3% but there were years when it was zero.

As a school cafeteria manager we normally do not get raises other than what they call a "step" raise just because you have put in another year.

Last year the Gov of GA signed the budget that Teachers would get 4% in addition the lunchroom workers,bus drivers , Paraprofessionals, and support staff. Well...we did not get ANYTHING..only the teachers did. I tried to fight it as much as possible because all the other school systems ddi get their raise. There was only so much I could really do since I am an at will employee!!

THIS year the system did decide to a re-evaluation of the salary guide (it had been about 15 years since the last one) so we did not a raise from that.


Anyway..for the ones who DO get raises around here it is usually 2%-3%
