I hope this is the right forum for this question. I've been going to Disney for nearly 40 years now and I never purchased an Annual Pass, but since I seem to be planning to go at least in December this year and next--I'll go a week earlier next year to take full advantage of the pass, but may go in April too--I may bite the bullet finally. My question is if I buy an Annual Pass now, but it's not activated until I get there in December, how does all that work with my MDE account, Magicbands, and making FastPass+ reservations 60 days out? I'm sure this topic has been covered somewhere on these forums and I'm even more sure that some of you out there know all the answers to my questions. So, any help would be greatly, greatly, greatly, greatly appreciated.:tilt:

You can book FP+ with just the purchase of a voucher.
60 days out if you are staying at a WDW resort, for the number of days of your stay.
You can access your AP via any MB you may have or be getting.

Thanks. I was never really sure how you're able to book FP+--is it the fact that you are staying at a WDW resort or that you have park media purchased? Or both? Sorry if I don't totally understand, but does the voucher show up on my MDE account at all? Will they mail the Magicband to me or do I have to wait to get one when I activate it outside any of the parks? I have all the Magicbands except orange, so I was thinking I'd get a new one.

It's based on ticket media. The onsite stay opens up the 60-day booking window while you'll have an automatic 30-day window when you link up your voucher.

*Moving this to the FP forum where there are some other AP threads discussing the maximum # of days of booking FPs, etc.

This is my experience - I purchased the AP's on the Disney website (while logged onto MDE) and the vouchers showed up on my MDE account for each person. We also stayed onsite, so were able to book FP's 60 days prior to arrival. No issues at all booking FP's.

Since we stayed onsite, we had MB's mailed to us. The MB's linked to both the room reservation and the AP, again all done automatically in MDE.

For the AP, we activated the AP voucher at TTC and used our MB's (the ones from the room reservation) throughout the trip.

You won't get your AP MB's until after your first trip. When we got home, we ordered the AP MB's and will use them on future visits this year.

Hope this helps!

:worship:Yes, this very helpful indeed! Thanks. I'm booked at Poly villa so I can order my MagicBand and it will be mailed to me. I can also order my AP and it will show on MDE and I can make my FP+ reserves 60 days in advance as always. Since I'm staying at Poly, I can activate the new AP at TTC like you did and then walk over to my room. No problems--thanks much again for the response!
