Annual Passport Online Purchase

Hello!
If I buy an Annual Passport online, when will the first day of the AP start? When I buy it, or first day of use?
(I've honestly searched the forums, but haven't found a diffinitive answer.)

With a new AP it's when you use it. If you go into the park with the voucher, or if you go to the ticket booth and get the actual AP card, those would be first use.

I bought mine ahead of time at AAA and got a discount, if you have that option.
