Annual Passholder questions

My husband and I have annual passes from earlier this year. We're taking "the kids" -- a 24-yr-old and a teenager under age 18 - for three days at the legacy parks and an Epic day. During part of the trip, we have two hotel rooms booked at an annual passholder rate, with "the kids" in their own room. I'd planned to get the adult kid an AP, but due to various reasons the teen is now more likely to use extra days or come back later. (I am thinking about taking her back with her friend who dreams of a Universal trip.)

Can the AP holder in a room be the minor rather than the over-21 adult? I don't see why not?

There is really no way to get my kid her discounted AP ticket to Epic, is there? I have to buy a regular single day Epic ticket? Living far away, I could not get her pass activated through use until at best the day before our Epic day, risking a sellout of all single day Epic tickets. I'm thinking it's not worth the risk.
 
My understanding is that you can book three rooms at an AP rate with a single AP, so as long as your or your husband's AP is valid, you are fine with both rooms. I'm not sure about using a minor's AP for the hotel discount but I don't see why it would be a problem - it is a benefit of the AP and the minor would be in the room.

I have read at least one report of someone getting a refund of the difference between the regular Epic ticket and the AP rate once they were on property. I will be trying that in January but I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I cant see it as an issue - especially since you have another room with an AP as well.
I've never had them even check for an AP that I can recall and I've been going to Universal for a long time.

I had no issue doing this during the previews - I had 4 days and they refunded the difference - just have the CC with you as it makes it easier for them to just refund the card. yo have to do this at Customer Service in the parks (or at the gate I guess). I did it the day before I went to Epic in studios at the guest services in the park.
 
I asked guest services by email how many APs we need for three rooms since I have to buy 2026 tickets for the family and the multiday tickets can't be upgraded if they include Epic admission (at least at this point). If I needed to buy APs for the others, I need to do that instead of buying the multi-day tickets. The team member who responded said I would need one AP per room. It's not that much more to buy an AP and add an Epic ticket for our dates - it's definitely worth the room discount for us.
