We are considering the idea of buying an annual pass this year. We went to wdw last year for the first time and were hooked. I figure with the ap we could save money by going a second time just weeks before the pass expires and with the discounts on rooms, we might be able to go a third time for a long weekend or such. Some questions are does everyone in the family have to have an annual pass to get the discount? Can you use disney dining plan with the ap? On average, how much do you save on deluxe accommodations? Thanks!

Only one pass needed for discounts. Can not get the DDP usuing discounted rates, but you can get the DDE dining card with the AP saves you 20% at most resturants and also includes alcohol drinks. Somtimes you can save 40% on rms.

OOOHHH, don't forget the other AP discounts too. 25% off the DDE, 10% off some dining ( for use maybe sometimes when the DDE wouldn't apply), 10% off at Basin and more. Our favorite is 10% off at World of Disney.:goodvibes

You also get discounts at DQ, PI, Jellyrolls, mini-golf, etc.

We are staying at the WL and are saving around $55 a night on a standard and $90 on a concierge level room. It pays for itself in one trip if you use the discounts at the resorts.

The DDE is great! We save so much money by using this. If the average TS meal at Disney is $20-$30 per person, that is a savings of $4-$6 per person with the 20% discount. Believe me it adds up.

The 10% discount you get with your AP at most restaurants does not include alcohol. Therefore the DDE is a great deal.

I have had my AP for 3 years now. I usually go to WDW 2x a year and visit the parks 2 days each. However, the discounts at the resorts and dining are worth the price of the AP.

Getting it for at least one member of your party is a great idea. We go with my family (parents, siblings, neices, nephews) of 8 people. I am the only one that has an AP. My family is very appreciative that at least one of us can get all the discounts.

We are now regular passholders just for the discount on the deluxe accommodations. We've some times save 125 dollars per night (multiply that by 7-10 nights). We also get the DDE card, which gives us a discount on our food and Alcoholic beverages.
