Wasn't that the whole point? A system that wouldn't fill up with extraneous waffle and background noise, and the only time you would hear anything from it would be when there's something to hear? i.e. when the link is released.

Oh I hope they don't release registration on Monday - it's Canada day! I don't want to be tied to my phone on a holiday. Hopefully Disney realizes that next week is a holiday week for Canadians and Americans, so they release registration today or tomorrow! Throw us a bone, will ya Disney?

Pete seems to think there’s no way they have this event during D23. As for me, I have no clue.

They know way more than me but honestly, WDW acts like D23 doesn't exist. I can't think of the last time I saw ANYTHING about D23 at WDW. Can anyone else?

Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's really like the only time that is bad for us for the entire month. We'll rearrange things if needed I guess, if that's the one week they go with but right now we are planning to pick up a moving truck on the 7th and drive it to AZ and then fly home on the 11th.

I'm in the camp that hopes they have something right before opening instead. If we can dream I pick something the weekend before it opens, like the 24th or so. Then we'll just shift our trip down and go a few days early. Would be much easier than trying to shift going home from AZ via FL

I'll be like the little girl in the taco commercial, "Why not both??" Haha! We're in the boat of we could do a preview the weekend of 8/10 or something after 8/25, but nothing between those dates, so my hope is for lots and lots of options!

After reaching out to Passholder Support about 10 days ago and being told that if you go back into the opt in area it automatically opts you out I decided to wait it out and see what happens. Today I received my first Disney email - it's not a Passholder one but it's from Disney Cruise Line. Feels like a step in the right direction! Maybe there's some truth to what the CM told me.

Now if I could only get my hands on a SWGE Passholder preview email....

It took a full 10 days after contacting them to receive my first Disney email but it's definitely a proper one (from: disneycruiseline@vacations.disneydestinations.com).
I am hopeful this might finally be sorted once and for all!

Are the email issues typically just for AP emails, or do people not receive any emails at all from Disney? I receive all kinds of Disney emails, but I haven't received a single AP email; but I've only been an AP since May...

I have the same question. I get stuff from WDW pictures, ShopDisney, and the Frozen musical, but nothing from the other like ‘destination’ emails.

based on what we know - this is only open to Paltinum and higher AP holders only - no guests. So if another Platinum holder is in your friends and family list in MDE (that is, you can make FPs for them, etc.) then you could register yourself and that person together, but only if they also have a Platinum or higher pass
