You obviously don't have to link a person who doesn't have to have an AP/ticket. My comment was only for those who hold AP

I would hope we can add her, more for capacity issues.... but worst case DH will have to stay behind with her and me and DD1 will have some fun! Such a nice wife I am :rotfl2:

Never done a preview before, can anyone tell me whether or not, if by some chance I am able to get a chance to register, whether or not I would be able to bring a gold AP member with me. I am a platinum AP but the rest of my party is gold. Never done a preview before, first time getting an AP.

From what I understand, no guests, including Gold guests.

Everyone in your party must be a Plat member.

This is the first one (that I am aware of) where they have segmented it for just some AP holders so hard to know 100% - but the way this is worded I would plan for it that everyone attending needs to be >= to a Platinum Pass holder

For Toy Story it was gold and above and I could not bring my silver family members.

ETA: I'd assume this will be plat and above - no guests that aren't plat.

I have a two (2) year old.

The rest of my family all have platinum passes. They wouldn’t give me an issue about the two (2) year old correct??

I like the idea of a separate locked thread concept in theory (I go grab a cup of coffee and there are 3 new pages of posts here to read through!). But in practice that would take one of the TPAS mods to unlock...which means one of us would need to be on/paying attention at the exact moment word comes out. I doubt any of us want to police an unlocked thread either.

I can’t speak for my fellow mods, but I don’t want that kind of pressure!

Plus if I am fortunate enough to be online when news drops, I’ll first be dealing with my own sign up. Just sayin’! :duck:

Although in seriousness, we can do simple things like quickly update the thread title for this thread. That’s not a complete solution but may help with more casual watchers.

In the past these things have happened so darn quick... it’s over and done with in a matter of hours (if that)... it’s generally too unpredictable and volatile to handle distribution of news with any precision.

They are not going to disallow under 3 because they do not have a Plat AP.
They are not going to prevent 2 parents from entering with their under 3 child.
This is not an indoor venue where headcount counts. For fire safety. (like an ADR)

Yes. I hope RotR is ready early! I wonder if both parks will open the new ride at the same time?

Doubtful. It’s expected Rise will open at Disneyland first.
Could I make a request/suggestion? Since this thread has blown up, could we create a new post solely for announcing when the link goes live? That way we can turn notifications on for that post and know when we get the notification that is what it's for.

Also, could some one tell me what I can do to receive notifications other than selecting to "watch" a thread? Are there settings somewhere that give you the option to have the notification to come via text, email, ect?
Obviously locking it wouldn't be beneficial (even though reetz will most likely get the jump on it and could just unlock it.) But just in case someone else finds it first, I think just asking people to please not comment unless it is to send the live link, and delete any posts that does. Put a link to this thread in the post to redirect discussion here.
There is no reason people wouldn't respect the request to please not comment. Especially since it would be against their on self interest.

There is also the option to bookmark posts outside of receiving email notifications. I like your idea but I just don’t think it’s going to work. We will do our best when the news is available. I know I’ll try to be on right away and I’m sure several others will. I’m sure it will also be posted on several threads.

Agreed on all accounts!

Is there a way to receive an "alert" if a thread is posted to a forum with a certain set of words (e.g., "Annual Passholder Preview"? Then, it's just a matter of posting a new thread with the link to the SWGE form when it goes live and we'll all receive a notification.

I asked this question in the Tech forum a while back (thinking precisely of notifications for Previews):
https://www.disboards.com/threads/i...ew-threads-containing-specific-words.3753529/

I'm sorry for another question. I know it has been stated several times about when the link when live in relation to when the actual preview were. This is my first chance at a passholder preview, so I'm more curious whether they made an announcement that it was coming like they have this time around, and if they did, what was the time gap there? Or, did the emails go out and surprise everyone?

You can set up a google alert for this.
Here is mine:
"galaxy's edge" AND "preview" AND "link" AND "passholder" site:disboards.com

I am adding phrases as the news comes in. Soon I will begin excluding keywords for posts that I don't want to see.

Do you think the previews will go all the way to the day before it opens? Or do you think they'll be a soft opening on the 28th?

Ok so for those of us slightly more technologically challenged, can you explain how you did this please?
