DPB announced on 6/17 that Platinum, Platinum Plus and Premier would have a chance to sign up for SWGE preview before it's official opening. No date for sign ups or previews yet (6/17)

On 7/5th a tab in the passholders extras announced this:
Platinum, Platinum Plus and Premier Passholders will have the opportunity to register for a preview of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge on select dates and times in August at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

How to Register

• Email invitations with registration details will be sent out later this summer.
• If you are an eligible Passholder and would like to register a Guest to accompany you, that Guest must also have a valid Platinum, Platinum Plus or Premier annual pass, be listed on your Family & Friends listand have opted to share "All My Plans" with you.

Important Information

• Advance registration is required. Eligible activated Annual Pass is required to register.
• Platinum, Platinum Plus and Premier Passholders must register by making an online reservation for ONE event.
• Valid Annual Pass and photo ID are required at check-in for each Passholder and Passholder Guest.
• Reservations are limited and are subject to availability.
• Activities and attractions are subject to change without notice.

Register for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Passholder Previews so you can…

• Take control of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy on the thrilling Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run attraction
• Encounter strange creatures and alien languages as you turn around corners and through back alleys—and discover ancient antiquities from across the galaxy
• Find the perfect gear fit for galactic adventure available for purchase at the Black Spire Outpost Shops
• Feast on galactic favorites and enjoy curious concoctions for purchase at exotic Batuu dining locations

  Travelers of all ages can cool off at Oga’s Cantina* with unique libations available for purchase.
• Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers**
  Build your very own custom lightsaber for $199.99 plus tax. Payment is due upon arrival. This entitles a lightsaber builder plus one spectator entrance to Savi’s Workshop.

Event capacity and number of reservations for this event is limited and subject to availability.
Important Information About Registration

• No modifications to reservations.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Information

• The Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run attraction and other offerings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Passholders who attend the preview event may not be able to experience all of the offerings during the event.
• Passholders may experience wait times during this event.
• Offerings, prices, experiences and information are subject to restrictions and change or cancellation without notice.

*Oga’s Cantina

• There is a maximum of 2 drinks per Guest.
• Guests must be 21 years of age or over to consume alcohol; valid photo ID is required.
• Oga’s Cantina consists mainly of standing room, with limited seating.
• Seating is not guaranteed upon entry and separate parties may be seated together.

**Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers

• Payment of $199.99 per lightsaber, plus tax is required upon arrival at this location.
• Admittance to this location is limited to a builder and 1 Guest. At least one person in the party must be age 14 or older.
• One lightsaber per builder per experience.
• Custom lightsabers are nonrefundable and are not eligible for Annual Passholder or other discounts.

For Pandora it was a reservation system where you reserved a time slot on a specific day. My AP was active at the time so not sure what the deal is for those that have vouchers but not activated APs.

Fingers crossed for some after opening AP events. We are there October 16-22, and I had not anticipated a fully opened SWGE at all. We will excitedly experience whatever we can, but I definitely expected a chill Halloween trip, and that is not likely to be the case now!

I have a Fl weekday annual pass. Wasn't able to do TSL previews (tho did Pandora) because of the level of pass. Wondering if its worth it to upgrade to a fancy pass to be eligible (if they do it that way) for previews for SWGE? And if I should do it before summer just to have ready for when they possible release dates.

I couldn't be more excited. I just broke the news to dh that I added a fourth (may the FOURTH be with you) trip for opening day at POP (a new resort to us.....with Sun in Fun discount rooms were $128)! I promised him that that trip AND the Sept trip will be totally chill with possibly NO ADRs. Hm....i wonder if my OCD brain will allow such a thing. I expect we will attempt to get into SWGE for that entire opening day trip until we have our fill (if there IS such a thing). Gotta get busy planning my outfits and ears

Following along. It's not likely we'll be able to make opening day unfortunately. With it opening on a Thursday and the other trips I have planned this year I just don't have the 3 days left I would need to take off. Maybe we'll get lucky with some sort of preview or after opening event.

We were planning on upgrading our 10-day tickets to AP's during our stay August 31 to September 7. If we haven't activated AP's yet, can you still do previews? How does that work? Assuming there are previews of course. We're staying at POP.

What if your AP isn’t active yet?

For Pandora, we had AP vouchers on our MDE profiles but had not yet activated them. We did NOT get the same email/opportunity to book a preview event that was sent out to other passholders, so I would assume your AP has to actually be active.
