Annual Passholder fast passes

Since I got my annual pass this year I have multiple trips planned for the rest of the year. Almost all of them I have on-site hotels booked, but I have one weekend trip planned where we are staying at the Marriott on points instead. For his weekend how will my fast passes work? I have three trips planned near it. I know Annual Passholders can only have 7 days of fast passes unless staying on site. Will I be unable to make any fast passes for this trip because I will have more than 7 days of fast passes already planned? So the weekend before and after this weekend I'll be there so I'll already have 6 fast passes and two weeks after that have a four day trip planned.

Since it'll be off site I'll have already made the other fast passes first at the 60 day. When the 30 day comes around will it tell me I have too many days and not let me book any?

Very possible. Trips booked close together when you have an AP are an issue. We had both trips on site and still had problems with booking FP for both trips. I can't remember now exactly what we ended up having to do. I believe I had to wait to finishing booking FP for the rest of trip 2 when we used the FP for trip 1

So when I go for my first trip I might have problems getting 4th fast passes because I have my fast passes booked for my next stay? Even if the other one is an on-site stay?

I don't believe you'll be able to select any for that off site trip. You'll have more than 7 but the system allows it due to on site stays. But I don't believe the system is set to where it counts on site stays separately than your 7 your allotted for off site.

You can try it but I'd be prepared for it to tell you you already have the max number of days booked

Yours is the kind of situation I don't think the suits really thought through before greenlighting FP+.

You should have no issues getting 4th FPs on any of your days.

No you won't have any issue selecting extra FP's the day you're there after using your first 3

When I'm in the park for my off site stay will I then be able to make a fast pass? Or I won't be able to get any for that trip?

Is there a time frame for the 7 days of fast passes? On the FP questions thread it mentions at any given time, so it's not like 7 days in a month? If I can't have any fast passes for this off site trip I might cut it short

I expect you'll be able to get them day-of, after entering the park. But as far as prebooking them, no. My best guess only, because my head spins.

Hmm, this complicates things lol. When the trip before it ends do you think I could make the fast passes then? I'll have 4 days of fast passes after it already booked so then it'll be below 7 days. It'll just only be a couple days ahead.

Um, probably? Can you tell I'm oozing confidence?

This is one of those things that happens so infrequently there aren't enough test subjects to have tried to be able to know what happens. It's so outside the norm of things I doubt anyone knows till you try and it either works, or doesn't.

I guess I'll have to report back on how it goes lol. The off site stay we have friends who will be on site for one day of our trip. Could they make fast passes for us for that day?

If you are friends on MDE, probably. I'd give it a try

We'll see how that goes lol. I never really thought about this problem because we always stay on site, but the hotel is basically free staying on points and with so many trips planned it's good to save some money.

It's unlikely we'll ever fully understand how FPs work in situations like yours. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

As far as I know...

Say you have 3 trips planned in order:
Trip 1 is on-site for 4 days
Trip 2 is off site for 3 days
Trip 3 is on-site for 3 days

Essentially you want 10 days of FP's but the system reads your on site stays as counting to the 7 day AP allotment. So you have 7 booked for on site and it's not letting you book 3 more for the off site stay. Once you use a day from trip 1, then book one day for trip 2 because at that point you'll have 6 days of FP's. Use your second day of FP's from trip 1, then book second day for trip 2.

You can make FP's for your off site stay as soon as your preselected FP days drop below 7

It's possible.

And for your friends that are on site for that one day, if the system allows you to be included with them when they select FP's then they can make a FP for you at 60 days out even though you won't be staying in the room on site with them.

If just one person on your MDE account has an on site stay, as long as you have tickets linked, like an AP, then you can select FP's 60 days out even if you don't include that on site guest on your FP's

That makes sense, and likely what the OP will be able to do. :thumbsup2

That is a good idea. I'll try that when I go for my first trip. The last day of our friends trip is the first of our off site stay so will see if they can add us. I think I'll ask them to wait until I can make fast passes for our third trip first. I've come to accept I won't be getting any amazing fast passes for this off site trip.
